A friend who is close to Shingler and has heard from him, has messaged to say 1/2p and J Mac are out with Jonny picking up an injury yesterday.  If this is the case massive blow. Dont crucify me if wrong.

In regards to the article above, even if they were injured/ruled out in the last 1-2 days, Scarlets wouldnt publish for anyone and everyone to know

As mentioned above  15. Patch 14.Prydie 13. Parkes 12. Scott 11. Asquith 10. Dan 9. Cawdor it will have to be if said information is correct.

Sadly I trust the source but all of me hopes hes 100% wrong on this occasion

Thats a blow if true most certainly. Cannot see much alternative to a back 3 of Patchell, Prydie & Asquith. Realistic options at 15 are scarce. Rhys Jones can play there but he looked a little overweight & frankly slow against the Dragons; Morgan Williams is quicker but so inexperienced. Neither stands up when compared to Watson!!!!!

The only other options I can come up with at the moment are Prydie at 15 with Ioan & Asquith or if you want a totally left field selection :- Prydie, Cubby & Asquith with Boyde starting at 7 & McLoud on the bench.

Underhill and Banahan are available for bath Friday. Really a blow if we can’t get halfers or mcnicoll onto the pitch. Still think a team of:

Patchell prydie parkes scott asquith dan Cawdor Barclay cubs shings beirne bullbring Samson ken rob

Elias wyn Kruger Cummins Rawlins Boyde Aled Steff.

Is more than enough

Bath have their own injury problems. Sam Underhill and Matt Banahan are both fit to face us but..
Nathan Catt (back), Anthony Perenise (calf/Achilles), Charlie Ewels (hamstring), Francois Louw (knee), Taulupe Faletau (knee), Semesa Rokoduguni (shoulder), Jeff Williams (knee), Kane Palma-Newport (Achilles), Shaun Knight (neck), Jack Walker (foot) and Tom Ellis (knee) are all still unavailable.

We just have to make the best of it , at least our pack is almost full strength (touch wood) The selection of prydie patchell and asquith seem pretty straightforward..They may not be lightning quick but they are all dangerous top quality skillifull all round footballers...Patch may offer more in attack than hapenny..Asquith has shown hes a dangerous attacker who makes space for others and prydie has impressed with his opportunities, hes put in a load fo hard graft..Cawdor is probably our quickest player hes always a threat, dan is playing the best rugby Ive seen from him, scott is always dangerous and parkes is class on his day

Who benches will be interesting. Aled and 2 others? Id have to guess nicholas and steff hughes? furthermore who will take the place kicks, dan or patch?

If HP injured and Mcnicoll fit I still say keep patch at full back and mcnicoll on the wing.

True. I'd guess Perenise, Louw, Faletau, Rokoduguni are starters and the likes of Charlie Ewels, Nathan Catt would be in the squad.

If Halfpenny is out, then I would go for Dan to take the shorter kicks and Patch or Prydie (if he plays) to have a go at the longer ones. Halfpenny's kicking with us hasn't reached his previous high standards and if he doesn't play on Friday what I think what we will miss most is his defensive positioning and tackling. Playing Patch at 15 gives us a different attacking dimension and as this game is a must win perhaps this is a more important aspect (and anyway Patch is no mean tackler himself).

I think Patch does offer something else at 15 and even if Lee was fit would have been tempted to start Patch at 15 with Lee and Johnny on the wings , that personally would have been my first choice but we'll have to wait and see who is fit , whichever combination it is we have to go for it and we are well capable of doing so , fingers crossed and really looking forward to the trip
