Played 76 mins with a broken finger! His ratings from Welsh journo Simon Thomas in the last test  sums it up . He is also the Scarlets "glue"

Hadleigh Parkes - 9

Does he ever make a mistake? Everything he turned his hand to, he just does so well. Can take the direct route, as he showed when sitting down the hulking Marcos Kremer, or the elusive one, spinning out of tackles and he can let the ball do the work too. Also so effective in defence, as with the tackle and strip which earned a penalty that extended Wales’ half-time lead to 17-3. The man is our glue.

I can't wait! Foxy outside Gar Dave, Patch, Parkes and with Steff, McNicholl, Halfers to support him is enticing!
While Ball enters a second row room that's getting better all the time.. Bulbring, a fully fit and rested Cummins, a fully fit and bigger (apparently) Price, Josh Helps. He's also got more carrying help from Elias, Rob, Cassiem, Blade, MacLeod etc!
Can't wait

Hadleigh likely to be out for 6 weeks so a good & well earned rest.

"He's had that cleaned out and he'll be seeing a surgeon when he goes back to New Zealand," said Gatland. "He'll have a hand specialist to look at that".

The way it reads it looks as if he will not have surgery until he returns to New Zealand. Then he will be six weeks out.

Yep, he is on his way home already to see a specialist about his lower back.

True but he's getting married a week Friday so I would expect the surgery before then tbh.

Well, let's hope it's a fairly straightforward break to put right... Hadleigh is just about irreplaceable for the Scarlets, especially with Scott moving on... he can do it all, plus he brings clarity of thought and leadership skills to the group.

Good luck to him for the wedding and the op!

I thought he may have an issue. If you look at the Wales game. After the final whistle when he was shaking hands with the palyers, he was gingerly holding his arm up as if there was a problem.

Multiple fracture, according to Gatland, but he doesn't seem to think there will be a problem fixing it up.

From the BBC:

Ospreys centre Watkin comes in to win a sixth cap in the absence of Hadleigh Parkes who will need surgery on a broken finger.

The Scarlets player picked up a compound fracture just four minutes into the Test victory in San Juan but played on for the full 80 minutes.

"He's had that cleaned out and he'll be seeing a surgeon when he goes back to New Zealand," said Gatland. "He'll have a hand specialist to look at that.

"That's something that will probably keep him out for about six weeks or something like that.

"It's a shame for him because we thought he was very good against Argentina.

"He defended well and his communication and chat in the midfield was excellent.

If the break was so bad, one wonders why he was allowed to continue playing ?
