Can someone actually explain to me where we were getting the money from to pay him??? Don`t get me wrong he would have been a class signing that would also have put people through the turnstiles, but where is the money coming from? We didn`t bolster our squad at the end of the season supposidly because of a lack of money, now we appear to be trawling for anyone and everybody who wants to come here. Could it be that some players have already been told that they are surplus to requirements for next season and will not have their contract re-newed? Could this explain why we have seen so many below par performances from certain individuals? We need new blood and I take my hat off to the club if the attempt to sign Mehrtens was a serious one, but at the same time, I am fed up with the constant spin, mis-leading statements and silence that is generated by Gallacher & Co. HAVE WE GOT MONEY TO RE-BUILD OR HAVEN`T WE????They bring alot of critisism on themselves and sometimes deserve all the flak that they get on here. Sometimes time the truth can be a marvelous thing.

could it be that hugh evans has said get a 10 at all costs? if that is not the case there can be no doubt that not all the seventeen players out of contract at the end of the season will be offered a new contract, and therefore releasing funds for the future.

The stadium may change, but the dream will remain the same!

It was in the Independent after the Northampton game 2/11/04 stating we were awash with money after the sale of Stradey but were having trouble attracting players and named D Hewlett as a player we had approached, i have also heard this I dont believe we did approach Mertens but we are in the market for an O/H,CENTRE(Shanklin),2nd row-overseas, and the Romanian no8 just what ive heard whether it comes to anything well have to wait and see, cheers |
