Roy - tax is a totally different issue. If governments could find a way to ensure that all the tax-dodging companies paid their fair share (Amazon, Starbucks, Vodaphone, Google, Apple to name just some of the largest) - as well as preferably the wealthiest individual tax dodgers, there would be more than enough to go round to fund better schools, roads and hospitals for all of us. It's disgraceful that you and I pay a higher marginal rate of tax than these companies! |

They will only do that if a referendum result goes that way. It'll be up to us to make sure that UKIP and its swivel-eyed loonies don't win the vote. |

Don't disagree but, sadly, the UKIP types are so paranoid about Europe. |

From American Presidential votes to the X Factor, Wales v Russia World Cup play off under Mark Hughes or the Stradey sale decision from WAG, there's always a conspiracy to demand a replay or rerun. Sometimes the dignified response is to let it go and accept the defeat. Use the goodwill and people power generated to get change for the betterment of your country. |

Rally today at the Scottish Parliament by independence supporters and they're also tweeting that 6% of the voters have changed their mind.
Why? What do they hope to achieve? I bet 50% of Lib Dem voters at the last election changed their mind as soon as they got into bed with the Tories. Didn't change a thing, though. At least they get another vote 5 years on. Whichever side people were on, the decision is made and everyone has to move on. Did they really expect the Westminster leaders to honour their vow? Abbey. Did you see last Thursday's Question Time from Kelsall? in the Borders. This is not over yet by a long shot. People who voted NO are already becoming aware of the deceit of the UK politicians who flocked up to Scotland in a desperate attempt to get them to vote NO. But Cameron started going back on his promises at 7 o'clock on the morning following the count. Since then the SNP has signed over 50,000 new members, mostly disillusioned Labour voters. The mood in the Question Time location was that if there is no attempt to keep to what was promised to win a NO vote then another referendum will be justified before long.

The Scottish referendum was battled on social justice which engaged really well with the electorate. Living in England it is so depressing to return to the politics of UKIP and a battle with the Tories, for who can be the most Thatcherite, which successfully engages with the electorate there. The sooner Labour gets it's act together and provides a coherent argument for social justice in the UK that can be a vote winner then the better I'll certainly be.

But if the poor got decent jobs, then they wouldn't be poor. So it is all their fault, if you think about it. Makes sense, yah?
