Doesn’t he get on very well with the coach that left the Blues for Ospreys at the end of last season?

It’s often a big factor in sport isn’t it - the coach and player relationship. I hope Brad has a lot of them craving for the fabled tales of the “big surf “waves on Llanelli beach and the “wind swept “ breeze of Carmarthen Bay as they enjoy a beach barbie 😂

Gareth Anscombe will start for Cardiff Blues against the Ospreys team he is joining next season for the most important game of their campaigns.
The loser of Saturday’s Guinness PRO14 Judgement Day shoot-out at the Principality Stadium will be unable to reach next season’s Champions Cup. |

That may be but I don’t think there was such big stakes on that match. What happens if there’s a last minute penalty to win the match for the Blues.... he scores it, he consigns his new team to the second tier of Europe next season.

He’s a professional and you would expect a player to have a certain amount of integrity to make the kick as the only consequences should be that his current team/employer wins the match, if he was to miss it intentionally then he should never put on a Welsh shirt again as the same could be said if Wales were to have a kick at goal in the last minute to beat NZ he could intentionally miss it as he didn’t want to beat his land of birth team

These are professional players and I would guarantee that they will play until the final minute for their current team. To suggest otherwise is both a bit naiive and an insult to their professionalism.
I have never been one of Anscombe's biggest fans, I am still not despite him having a decent 6 nations, but I have no doubt in my mind that he will give his all for the Blues cause until his final game.

I know, i'm not suggesting he will 'throw the game' or questioning his professionalism, its just quite a unique position to be in.

What if he genuinely misses it, he is human after all. The supporters would have a field day with whether he threw the penalty or not.

Think Evans will be kicking, barring injury.

I agree 100% - never been completely convinced by Anscombe (even now, after a decent 6N), but he's a pro and I'm sure he'll give it his best shot.

Kicks it, Cardiff fans will love him. Misses it, Ospreys fans will love him. Wins either way. And anyway, doesn't really matter as we'll beat either in the play-off.
