180 seems very poor turnour for such a large venue and with all the players appearance money-if a 'working class' game like darts with World class players and Scarlets in the crows can't draw in the crowds (bit like the rugby!) its pretty depressing for the organisers I would say.

the snooker league on sky visits every area of the UK bar wales
pool and 9 ball US pool also have no tournaments in wales
there is an enormous market for it and no one is doing it? crazy
the indoor venue is the ideal size for such events and we just happen to have terence griffiths on our doorstep . its more than worth a phone call. terry griff is the man to at least help get the scarlets in the right direction on that.

I was also thinking pool so thanks for mentioning it as I forgot to mention that! Can Terry lend a hand in creating/profiling something like this or a Steve Davies who is a Pool and Snooker man? There are a number of Welsh legends who might turn up . Again its 'horses for courses' and both types of games would fit the Barn profile and the profile of people in the town and area.
It could be a pro-am event and even half a combined competition involving pool and snooker shooting for a cash prize (sort of 'King of the event' thing)
Barry Hearn is the man with the brains-worth an investigation surely Scarlets marketing?
Indoor bowls-again very popular
This Barn has so much potential I feel.

inddor bowls another brilliant suggestion. again it has a huge following. there are lots of bowls arenas around the county but none with this capacity.
back to snooker, terry griff is the man. also wayne. you also have craif price who bought terrys matchroom last year, he may want to be involved.
pro am events, also the blackpool bonanza is another great innovation
1 frame with time limits and the crowds are allowed to scream and shout
that could be the darts league/20/20 cricket version of snooker that may appeal to the masses and the fancy dress party goers
we need week in week out stuff not just one off events and its possible if we established ourselves as a venue for these other sports we could find ourselves with ever expanding itineraries

ps terry was also a part of barry hearns matchroom team and always had one snooker legen or another coming down to make an appearance....steve davis, jimmy white , neal foulds or the old welsh legends like reardon and mountjoy etc the matchroom always sold out, but its too small a venue. this is a different level. they could play against afew local amateurs and against each other....the older heads like davis and reardon can also entertain with trick shots and impersonations, ray does a great count dracula hoho

Rodney Parade put on an excellent one at our game there this year. It's so straightforward to do. |
