I would imagine so. It obviously depends what day the game is on. Wales are playing Ireland in Cardiff on the Friday night.

With no Scarlets game that weekend, what's the best side we can put out without a) leaving players who've done well so far out completely and b) not disrupting squad balance?
Is there a space for, say, Cubby, having only played 13 times this year?

I think we will & should stick with the squad that have achieved qualification. For instance picking Cubby would mean dropping the regular 7 - Macloud. Not a great idea in my opinion.

Nothing whatsoever IMHO. Scarlet A sounds better. I think the Irish province A teams also call up players from their club sides.

Agree entirely, the boys in that squad have earned the QF, why would we then take that away from some of them by playing higher profile players?

If our youngsters don't even get game time in these sorts of games they may become disillusioned and leave ship for more game time. We are both fortunate and unfortunate in the sense our backrow options (6 and 7) are ridiculously plentiful, so although the depth is great, keeping all the talent is unlikely.

To give us an increased chance of winning, maybe? It depends how we view the competition doesn't it, if we see it as purely developmental then we stick with the same team.
But if we view it as a good chance of silverware that we'd like to win, why not drop in a scattering of more experienced players to give us the best chance possible? In the same way that Emyr has been in and out of the team according to whether the Scarlets needed him or not.

I'd prefer it if we didn't have more than the occasional senior player in the team but if, say Bullbring or Patch's return coincides with this game and it was genuinely in the wider Scarlet interest to give them some game time, then why not give them some time off the bench in this game?

Emyr as 3rd choice this season to date is a rightful A squad player. Cubby is not. There is a clear correct path on selection for this team. For instance at 2nd row. Beirne made his early reputation playing for them so to play him would be Ok whilst playing Jake would not be. A returning from injury Bulbring - no in my opinion not if Helps & Bernardo were fit.
