The original poster made it quite clear that they would in no way wish to imply that the club supported the cause, or that the cause was representative of the Scarlets fanbase as a whole. The proposal is to start a group for Scarlets fans who also happen to be in support of Welsh Independence, and this should be perfectly acceptable, just as it should be to start a group for Scarlets fans who also happen to back Brexit, or vote for the Conservatives/Labour, or any other agenda. People who call themselves inclusive and liberal are often neither of those things, and attempt to shout people down at any given opportunity just because they don't agree with what the other is saying. This is plainly wrong and is not how political "discussion" should be carried out, and therefore I see no issue with what has been proposed.

As for Welsh independence, I believe that we are much stronger as part of the United Kingdom than we would be on our own. We wouldn't have the military capabilities to defend ourselves, our economy probably isn't strong enough for us to stand on our own two feet, and besides...if we had Welsh independence then we really would be governed by socialists such as those in the Labour Party or Plaid Cymru, which would be disastrous to the country and to the people of Wales.

yeah sadly in light of the pathetic governance of the WAG thus far and the lack of accountability and vast overspends and total lack of a business strategy across the welsh councils I would have to agree

Roy you're quite right to be critical, but I'd add that given that Wales has been run like a one party state for the last hundred years we should look to who those in power are in order to target the criticism more accurately.

Who is it that has surrendered significant powers returning from the EU to Westminster? Who has failed to stand up for major infrastructure projects in Wales and even wasted huge amounts of public money on failed proposals? Who is it who has repeatedly failed to streamline local government in the face of albeit weak opposition from WLGA (too much nepotism?)? Who is it that is all too eager to blow our entire borrowing facility on an environmentally catastrophic M4 project when the rest of Wales is crying out for investment in transport to really get the economy going? Who is it that has taken social housing away from democratic scrutiny and stuffed housing associations right left and centre full of its cronies and overseen an intake of socially troubled and damaged people from England's big cities which has caused no end of trouble for local authorities?

Well it begins with "La" and ends in "bour." They are not interested in developing Wales. They want to maintain their little empire. I read a comment from one of their gang along the lines of ... "There's plenty of wealth in Wales. It's just not taxed properly." Shambolic considering the GVA/GDP stats. Astonishing ignorance. They have no clem that they have a duty to build up an environment where wealth creation can take place, build up local ventures that add value to local products and support local communities.

The first step in the liberation of the Welsh nation is to throw off the Welsh Labour parasite. They are the dementors of Wales (a nod to the Harry Potter fans). Too long have we allowed them to pretend that they are the party of the working classes, all the while fiddling whilst Wales burns.

Heartening to see the protests and action against the Hinkley Point mud. If Labour won't stand up for our country I guess it's up to the people to raise their voices. Thanks to Cian Ciaran + Neil McEvoy for not giving up.

One thing I can't disagree with is the need for Wales to be ridded of the Labour Party!

Just so typical of their thinking. I met Leanne Wood when she came to Llanelli and spoke with her about my frustrations with Plaid over the last 20 years. I mentioned the need for homegrown enterprises supported by a sovereign Welsh Government, sustaining local communities and adding to the tax pot. She came across as cautious to me. She did make one good point ... that much of the powers needed to improve the economy are already held by the Assembly and that Labour do a terrible job with them. This notwithstanding, in order to achieve independence there was a lot of economic infrastructure that needed to be put in place (a lot of this stuff is from "The change we need" - her policy booklet).

Good grief we need a political revolution in Wales, a real awakening. We also really need a proper government that brings in real expertise to transform our economy and services.

Carwyn yn canu clod Llafur dros economi Cymru! Sgwn i os yw e wedi edrych ar ffigyrau'r Trussell Trust yn diweddar neu, duw a wyr y ffigyrau GVA y pen. Beth am y sefyllfa prynu ty?

Carwyn singing Labour's praises on the Welsh economy (jobless figures)! I wonder if he's seen the Trussell Trust figures recently, or grud knows the GVA per head figures! What about home ownership prospects?

Ive written to the WAG twice. Once to discuss why they only offer temporary rate relief on pubs rather than permanent rate relief. The fact its temporary, means all pubs are still charged the full price by sky sports as they charge your bill against the PERMANENT rates of the business. This is 1 massive reason why so many pubs go under. I had a reply 2 years later saying they were looking into the matter? 3 years later and I have heard nothing

Secondly I wrote to labour mp and am's regarding the absurd waiting lists at Prince Phillip and Glangwili and Welsh NHS hospitals generally and asked why there isnt a national waiting list for such a small nation? I asked why labour gave GP's a contract that allowed 90% of them to stop doing out of hours work. They passed it on to the WAG and I have had zero reply.

I also asked her why labour is always spending a hugely disproportionate amount of time discussing issues that relate to tiny groups of people and relatively little time discussing the  issues that affect the day to day lives of 99% of the population? Fox hunting had 700 hours of debate in parliament in one year during new labours reign of power. more than the Iraq war.

I didn't have time to ask our MP and AM why the roads in llanelli are so appalling , why the rainscape project is running for so many years and causing massive disruption and why great western terrace has been closed for 18 months. Or why our town centre was voted the second worst in the UK or why we still have a drugs epidemic worse than any other town in Wales or why we have so few call centre jobs compared to other places or why we have no A and E for a large town etc etc

Interesting that Labour continue to obfuscate on even the most gentle lines of enquiry into their decisions. This time on public money to Aston Martin: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-45501377

Millions of Welsh Taxpayers money given already and Labour ducking out of the question on any further bungs.

My main point and my real criticism is on the continuation of the policy of pursuing "Inward Investment." Really it amounts to a whopping big bung to a company to set up shop in Wales ... usually lasting only a few years (LG anyone?) before decamping once more. This is a lot of money that is ultimately lost to Wales. Aston Martin, I would hope, probably pay a decent wage. How much more money would be circulating in the local economy if the grants (bungs) paid were invested in Welsh start ups instead?

Typical of Labour - they've been throwing money at all sorts of folk, mainly from outside of Wales. If they'd invested it in homegrown Welsh entrepeneurial ventures and improving our infrastructure we'd have a much more functional economy.

In the years Ive been in business they have offered zero support in any way shape or form.
I remember they had a big womens golf tournament down machynys one year, it came here for a year or 2. Only because the WAG paid all the prize money. Once they withdrew that , the competition never returned. They also bailed out glamorgan cricket club millions. Once they were awarded test matches glammie cricket changed overnight from a well run family club to a totally deluded overpriced money losing mess of a club. The WAG duly rewarded their absurd fiscal approach and bailed them out a fortune with tax payers dosh

lived on the back of the popularity of sturgeon IMO. she offered nothing. in her tenure there was the loss of power sharing with Labour in Wales (maybe through choice, but non the less a daft idea) and a reduction of MPs in Westminster.

Leanne has her qualities and I really hope she has a significant part to play in the future. However, Adam gives Plaid the best chance of communicating a coherent set of proposals, a genuine argument for independence as a means of transforming Wales' fortunes and prosperity for the better. I'm feeling a little more hopefull today.

Also, really interesting programme with Alice Roberts on dark ages Britain.

He co wrote the last Plaid manifesto ! Too confrontational in my view. He'll alienate too many people. It's his way, or no way at all.

Main positive for me is that he has recently shown willing to communicate Plaid's raison d'etre with far more urgency than has been the case in the past. At long last, no more brushing it under the carpet. The case is there, the argument .... and election to be won.

Plaed have to get real...instead of just demanding independence and everything turns welsh....
How's about some broad ranging policies and strategies across the board dealing with everyones issues problems hopes, dreams and aspirations? Why is there not better access to free welsh language learning too? instead of a political football just help more learn it free.

Then get down to some serious business...The state of the economy, wages, the roads, the collapse of the NHS, with gp doctors and dentists having too much power and opting out of out of hours work? The roads, the parking issues, the rates across the broken town centres, the policy on allowing massive retailers to take over towns.....

A proper post brexit industrial policy, that also covers how to accelerate the rebuilding of those areas most hit by the industrial collapse. How will they exploit the new industrial opportunities in a post brexit britain? A comprehensive energy policy that incorporates wind and tides. How will a plaed government handle law and order, the police cuts, terrorism threats, the war on drugs....How will the build up our econom, our GDP, what encouragement for entrepreneurs to create more jobs....The list goes on. Get real plaed, the welsh wont hand you the keys to the WAG simply because you fly the st davids flag and sing some nice dafydd iwan songs....We dont do mindless nationalism in Wales, we also dont need any more politicians grandstanding trying to take the moral high ground and deflecting these questions but [beep]ging off their opponents. Just address the issues that relate to the masses, then give us your actual policies for dealing with these issues. BUT the opportunity is massive for you now....Welsh labour are hopelessly complacent , UKIP were just a one hit wonder, the lovely tories will never rule in Wales and the liberals well theyre in nowhere land still chasing a second referendum.

You’re quite right Roy. Independence has to be for a purpose. There are a number of good policies about but they need to up their game. Sadly not a terribly well resourced party.
