yes understand that but Asquith similar background no? Jake Ball from what I remember too - although I think he had a season with Llanelli RFC first - and a handful of games. I know its only highlight reels, but he seems to have everything to make it - can he make an impact straight away? possibly not, but I would'nt be surprised. As I said, just looking forward to seeing how he develops. He may be another Tadhg. I assume he will probably play for Scarlets u23s...another side I am looking forward to seeing play next season. |

Aaron will be out for a few months though...so during internationals we will be without him and Cubby - if Blade gets into Scotland squad we will also be without him - So back row during that time I assume at the moment may be: 6. Cassiem 7. Boyde 8. Macleod Rawlins will be more of a lock with Bullbring and Cummins. You are down to Ed Kennedy and Dan Davis for back row options and Tom Phillips during internationals. Am I missing anyone? |

I think your right but we must trust in Pivac to unearth another rough diamond that can be finished and then polished off like Tadhg. Tadhg was someone who had all the credentials to make it, he was just trying to make it in the best team/squad in Europe, where they have a glut of back and second row players. I believe that if he was fighting for a full time pro contract at any of the other Irish provinces he would have walked it. Anyway, that was our gain for 2 years.

Thats true, but didnt asquith only have one season where he was involved in only one match with the Rebels before returning to the side i believe who are in the same league as the club kennedy is coming from? I know it will take time, but he seems to be a natural athlete which will go a long way and with current injuries and amount of call ups - if he goes well in pre season and training and u23s he will be given a crack. As i said aIm just looking forward to seeing how he develops as the skills he shows he looks as if his game will be a natural fit for us. and going by current injuries and potential call ups, we will be left with cassiem, boyde, macleod to start back row (providing that Boydes rehab will go as planned, but he will have missed an entire pre season so will be playing catch up), who do you see on the bench covering during internationals? (Shingler who's injured, cubby and Thomson may all be missing at the same time). Phillips? Davis? Kennedy? is there anyone else? |

last time I saw him down the parc he was still in a brace and on crutches. I think I remember reading he will be back beginning of the season. whether that means ready and fit for the first game im not sure. hope all is going well with him. Very handy signing he's been. |

I'm sure I read that, too, but presumably it was a guess or misreporting, as the Scarlets site itself specifies that Jon Evans a foot injury: but no details are given.

I think we will have Cubby during the Autumn campaign if Warburton & Navidi are fit.
