As some of you may have seen (and contributed) CRYS16 were collecting for the refurbishment of the old Stradey Gates. It's the first time for us to be involved in such a fundraising effort (not before time, some would say).

The gates are now situated opposite the Barn entrance and it's not difficult to see that they're in a sorry state. We thought it'd be a great opportunity to make a contribution to restoring our heritage.

Many thanks to all those who contributed last Sunday, including a considerable amount of Sarries fans and a group of Dutchmen, down to watch The Scarlets for the first time.
Diolch yn fawr iawn i chi gyd.

It's our intention to now roll this out to an online campaign so keep an eye out on our website for further details. Members will, of course, get further information by e-mail.

Yes, I saw your guys and contributed - good job, Crys 16!

I'm fascinated by these Dutchmen - any idea who they were? Rare Dutch rugby fans? A Scarlets outpost in Amsterdam? Or did they mistakenly expect a game of football?

They were from near Maastricht and had been to Bristol to see them play Bath. They said it was a very one-sided game and were hoping. for a better match at Y Parc. They got it.

Diolch am eich cyfraniad hefyd.

Knowing the Dutchmen, it was probably only a flying visit.
