Herschel would take up a NWQ slot. Rather use that on a 2nd row, eight or a wing.

We have 6 slots don't we? So far next season I can think of:

Werner
Bulbring
Cummins
Jonny Mac

Leaves room for AN Other Back row and AN other somewhere else.
We're still still here, but I wish we were in an Anglo-Welsh

Add Asquith but 3 would be time servers so there not NWQ correct ??

Cummins and Johnny are time servers so I think they go outside the NWQ total.
I still wake up late at night and think of what might have been when tim stimpson hit that jammy penalty1

Bulbring, too, would be a time server on that basis.

Quite forgotten what the rules are.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was the youngster we took on loan last week. Apparently we almost signed him in the Summer. Would harm our NWQ count though.

Come on Phillips is 35. No I liked the look of Janties too, but can't imagine we'd have signed him unless one of our three 9's was leaving last summer. Now could be the time.
Won't say I'm not disappointed that LLoyd Williams isn't joining us, but either Phillips or Janties joining us  would make up for it.

I think we have 6 NWQ allowed and 2 time servers although to be classed as a time server you need to be below a certain age.

For next season so far i think we have
NWQ - Kruger, Asquith (played 7s for Aus), Fonotia
Time servers - Bulbring, Cummins and McNicholl

So we have 2 slots left, one of whom must be a back row player. There are rumours we might be signing a few more forwards too.

I'm not sure how it works if a player qualifies half way through a season like Bulbring and whether they still count.

Frankly, I didn't see why we would go for Lloyd Williams nor why he would want to come to us and have, again, the same situation with 3 very good scrum halves, just swapping Aled for Lloyd. It doesn't make sense from a financial point of view, we simply can't afford it. That's riches better spent in other positions IMO.

1 Xavier Rush   2 Rhys Priestland   3 David Lyons   Cardiff Blues - Scarlets, 26/09/09

More carries than any of our forwards. Priestland Fan Club Proud Member
