I've made a fool of myself plenty of times in the past, but I managed to reach a whole new level during my brief chat with none other than Tony Blair.
A few days before the second Test against New Zealand, the Lions press office Alistair Campbell passed me his mobile phone and told me the Prime Minister wanted to congratulate me on being made Lions captain.
Unfortunately for me, I thought he was joking....and what I said to him in the first five seconds of our conversation is definitely not something to be repeated!
Obviously when I gave him a chance to get a word in, I soon realised I was talking to the Prime Minister !!.
