Moriarty joining us or Ospreys ? Ha ha I think. One of the big English clubs next I think before the big crowds and atmosphere. Sad but true!

Gatland will be pulling out all the stops to make sure as many internationals as possible are playing at home by 2018, this will give him the best preparation time for the 2019 world cup.

Isn't he on record saying quite the opposite? That the Pro12 doesn't prepare players for the intensity of the international game in contrast to the AVIVA, for example? The number of wild cards/loopholes on welsh players playing in England and France would certainly suggest he is of two minds here.

Gatland's law is a joke. He selects who he wants.
I've seen the truth ... and I don't understand it!

That's clearly a duff excuse - Ireland are an example that this is bogus and the fact that Leinster and Munster are in the RCC semi-finals further diminishes the argument. England's bonus over the last few years is that the dearth of talent coming through is outstripping what any other home nation is producing - it's the amount of talent available to cope with injuries, giving them the depth and competition for places that's the big difference not where they play (AVIVA, Pro12, Top14 etc.)

Wales haven't got the playing pool because we've only got 4 professional sides... And one of them is the Dragons.

I think he'd love all the players in the Pro12, but we don't have the finance to achieve that aim, hence the "wildcards".

Correct, Ireland has also 4 teams and Connacht has been Dragon-esque until a couple years ago though. But they had a distinctive policy of only selecting home based players.

I'm not sure that last paragraph is correct as far as Gatland is concerned, and if it is, then not much is done to enforce it. If you want to ensure welsh players play in the Pro12 you don't put wildcards in place to begin with.

Only issue I see with all players in Wales, is that they would become an unofficial 5th region with players training half the time with the region, and the other half with Wales, and around 6 weeks prior to Internationals.

I can see only one winner there...Wales.

Good or not I can honestly say I am not sure if I am for or against it.

Regarding the Pro12 vs Aviva debate, I increasingly believe that the top half of the Pro12 is almost if not actually as good as the top half of the Aviva, but the problem is the bottom half of the former is considerably worse than the bottom half of the latter. The Italians, Dragons and Edinburgh wouldn't even survive in the Aviva, while I would bet that the Blues and Connacht would also lose half or more of their matches against the lower ranked Aviva teams.

This is also one reason why England want the 6N played over fewer weeks, IMO - to give players for other countries who get  injured less time to recover, with weaker back-up available.
I share no-one's ideas. I have my own.

Tend to agree with aber-fan, they have far more international class players than the 3 Celtic nations, so in a bad year one would see France & England "fighting" for the trophy !!

Don't agree with the French comment - they are struggling because of the influx of established foreign stars. England have been clever & have imported talent & converted them miraculously to being English. Solomena being the latest. Won't have anything to do with the 22k per game fee tho!!!!! Before long we will see a full English 15 with not one born in England. Sad day that.

Not if he's on an NDC.

Ah, the sunny optimism of Pembrokeshire Wink
Hope you are correct (for us to sign him of course).  Only 23, tremendous potential.

Surely the loss of Liam and DTH has released some capital?
