Looks like Mr T might be missing from the Toulon midfield after his homophonic comments this afternoon.....

Prefer the ban starts after the game, let's beat their best, and slowest centre

My sentiments exactly, I watched the game and he offered nothing apart from his try which was scored with the help of another 11 or 12 Toulon players. Scott and Hadley will have a field day running down his channel, he’s just too big to move at any great speed and track back, we’ll be 20 yards downfield by the time the big man has turned around.
However, I can see him missed the game as the authorities will have to be seen to be stamping out homophobic comments that have no place in the game or in society full stop.

I don't care about beating their best, they can put their reserves out. Qualifying is EVERYTHING regardless of how.

Are people forgetting the amount of damage Basteraud has done to us previously? He's a tank that usually breaks a couple of tackles before being wrestled to the ground, it's a massive boost if he gets cited.

European Professional Club Rugby, the governing body that runs the Champions Cup, confirmed that Bastareaud had been cited and will face a disciplinary hearing this week.

What's the score with Nonu and Fekatoa then? 2 class ex all black centres.

Indeed.  I remember in the previous season when we played Toulon, our coaches explaining that a one-on-one tackle would not be enough to bring him down, so the plan was for the first one in to simply slow him down whilst the second player would hopefully bring him to ground.  He took two defensive players out every time.  Much of Toulon's game plan revolves around him, so he will be a great loss to them and his absence should be a boost for us.
That's the Scarlets, its in their DNA.

Nonu has missed last two games and Fekitoa missed the Benetton game so don’t know about their availability.
Nonu is pretty much off next year too.

Fekitoa isn't named in European Squad, not sure if they could swap him for someone or only if a player is injured they can be swapped??

3.5 Each club may register up to three additional players during the pool stage, each to replace a player previously registered. If a club registers three additional players, one such player must be a front row player. Additional players must have a three-month contract with the club and must not have played for another club in the tournament. Additional player registrations must be submitted by 12 noon (GMT) on the Tuesday before the match. De-registered players may be re-registered (in place of the relevant additional players) during the pool stage.

Don't agree with that as it stands. It should only be available in case of injury. This is open to abuse in this case, or for example where the coach deems that a player is not playing well.

Bastareaud got himself and Toulon into this mess, why should they have a 'get out' clause now ? This devalues the citing process, be it for unacceptable comments or foul play.
Does anyone know if we've replaced Steff Evans ?

Can't imagine you would be able to replace a banned player using this process, would imagine you had to replace an eligible centre if yo wanted to bring another one in.

Looks like 6 weeks is the minimum for this offence.  He will probably plead guilty with mitigation he was provoked.  Good behaviour etc, I'd say 2 to 3 weeks unless they want to make an example of him.
