Get well soon Emyr! He was on our bus for the Northamoton game and it was a real worry while waiting for news when we heard he'd collapsed, fair play to his mates who made sure he was okay and escorted him safely back to the bus and well done Mark for looking after him and making sure he got home safe!

I know ALBATROSS was going to send an e-mail to Saints updating them on Emyr's progress and reiterate the thanks to their stewards, security and some supporters for their concerned help. They were a credit to the Saints, the same cannot be said about the time it took an ambulance to come and give him the OK to travel back on the coach.
It really brought into perspective the fuss that was made afterwards about being quiet for Myler and his bloody place kicking.
We all had Doctor's papers!

All this is the email that I have this evening sent to Scarlets and Saints Head Offices and other potentially interested parties.. I felt such treatment should not go unnoticed. I will post an replies as appropriate if/when I receive them.

"To Mark Davies

(cc - Allan Robson c/o Sue Hewitt - Saints Chief Executive, Melvyn Payne - Saints Stadium Manager, Natalie Bunyan - Scarlets Supporters Travel)

Please excuse the rather direct email however I felt that it was appropriate and much needed.

I am emailing in regards to the excellent treatment given to a traveling Scarlets fan by the Saints stadium staff on Sunday 11th March.

During the first half of the game, one of the regular Scarlets away fans collapsed on the terraces. Within moments we had a number of stewards report to the scene and shortly afterwards were joined by the stadium first aid team and Doctor. The individual was taken inside and looked after until he reported he felt well enough to return to the game.

Unfortunately he took a turn for the worse whilst waiting for the Supporters coach. We were quickly assisted by a steward who raised the alarm to the Stadium manager, Melvyn Payne. Throughout the time we were waiting for an ambulance (well over an hour), I was beyond impressed by the dedication and professionalism the Saints Stadium staffed showed. They continuously checked on the individual and liaised with both me and my partner throughout the incident. Many of these staff stayed well beyond their required hours, for which I am thankful.

I would also like to draw attention to two other individuals that become involved as the situation progressed. Two Saints fans, who I believe were committee members of the Saints Supporters Club, named Gary and I believe Lol. Both upon finding out about the situation immediately offered up phone numbers and offers of accommodation in case anyone had to miss the bus to stay overnight in Hospital. Their generosity was fully appreciated.

Thankfully the individual was eventually seen by ambulance staff and allowed to travel home - luckily there was also a Doctor on his return coach and has since been referred to hospital and is receiving treatment. If you've ever seen a Scarlet fan on TV you will know who he is - he always wears a hard hat painted in Scarlets colours with a set of posts glued on top.

I would personally like to thank Northampton Saints Stadium team and all those that became involved throughout the afternoon on behalf of all of us that attended on the 11th. Rugby is well known for being a family community, regardless of club or country. This just cements that view and I think such situations should be commended.

With thanks"
