lol I dont know whether to laugh or cry....whilst the media try to paint him and putin or the korean kid as a one dimensional bunch of red blooded macho men having a stare down, the truth appears somewhat different. From what I've seen its more bromance than alpha male face off...Obviously with Putin giving nothing away other than a football lol On a serious note, now that they have a dialogue hopefully they can find some kind of better way forward on Syria , nuclear weapons , Korea and so on.

If the western media provided any evidence whatsoever of Russian interference, then people who haven't been brainwashed by the continual demonization of Putin and Russia, might have to provide answers. The media seem to be completely satisfied by "the intelligence community said so" and when you consider all the lies that have come from those sources from  "weapons of mass destruction" to  "9/11" then you've got to be very gullible to believe them.

I hadnt watched one of these press conferences for a while, its bizarrely aggressive, you can barely hear people speak for the endless clicking of cameras too. The politicians repeat their talking points , the complacent journos ask the exact same questions, the exact same way, they constantly interrupt and no one learns a thing...Is it any wonder we get so little substance out of them?

Roy, they don't want any answers that contradict the media's simplistic world view  -US good, Russia bad. The media won't allow any arguments or evidence that might make people think  in a different way to the billionaires and right wing governments that pay them.
As far as Cold War MkII is concerned investigative journalism doesn't exist, as it all must be Putin's fault. Evidence isn't necessary if you believe this.

Yes it would be pretty easy for the US Intelligence community to provide some evidence of their claims if they indeed possess it. Apparently Putin has offered access to the people accused which seems, on the face of it, fair. However I am not in possession of the full facts. It cannot be wrong for these two to try and establish a dialogue. Too many self interested parties seem to stand to gain by continuing friction.

Just to try and get back on topic..

The EU has just signed one of the World’s biggest free trade deals with Japan, covering nearly a third of the world’s GP and 600 million people.
https://www.bbc.com/news/business-44857317

This comes a week after the US president’s visit began with him insulting our sitting Prime Minister and saying our current Brexit trajectory will ‘kill’ any chance of a UK-US trade deal. There was also hundreds of thousands of protestors of Trump’s visit.

The British people would prefer to remain than have a ‘no-deal’ Brexit.
http://uk.businessinsider.com/yougov-poll-voters-would-rather-remain-in-eu-than-accept-a-no-deal-brexit-2018-7

“It seems that the money Vote Leave illegally distributed was spent on specifically targeting voters identified as susceptible to racist propaganda with racist propaganda.” - James O’Brien
The extra £500k spent by the Leave campaigns (illegally) equates to around 150million Facebook adverts.

sounds like good news at first glance sospan though one would need to understand the mass of small print in such a deal. Perhaps Brexit has inadvertantly given the EU the massive kick up the backside it needed. Whatever happens now, I think a hard brexit is out the window.

The BBC is not a neutral broadcaster. As the recognized state broadcaster, it has serious a serious neo-liberal agenda and its news/programmes on Corbyn, Brexit, Russia, Syria. Trump, N.Korea are so heavily slanted, that it is extremely unusual to find anything positive about any of the above.

other posters took the thread on an anti trump anti brexit tangent, this story is a pro trump story, granted its tenuous link but when people take the topics on a tangent it takes us to different topics. I notice you didnt pick up other posters on their tangents such as discussing trump being rude to theresa may and so on

Trump criticised May on her handling of Brexit, and the US has long been touted as one of the places we’d go for a trade deal to replace business lost/hampered by Brexit.
