La Rochelle didn't qualify in 7th.
Will do a more extensive breakdown of who we can and can't play after next week, but I believe that if the Os win today we're guaranteed one of Bath/Gloucester/Castres as the tier 4 draw, as i believe we can't draw another Welsh team under any circumstance and both Blues and Os will be in tier 4.

I’d love Newcastle in our group. Now there’s an away trip!

Not sure if you mean Lyon or Castres. Castres has a lovely centre, even though its outskirts are typically less impressive. Lyon is an awful place to drive through/round and I hated the thought of going there when they won the bid for the Finals in 2016. With the aid of a Lyon-resident Montpellier fan acting as a guide for the weekend in return for a ticket, we had a fantastic time and saw so much that wasn’t we were expecting. It completely change our opinion of the place. We went by train, too, and that was great. |

BY-passing Lyon on the motorway is dreadful, but apparently (my daughter says) the city itself is very nice. No idea about Castres.

Racing Metro would take a lot of support.

Lyon is tailor made for a Scarlets' visit. A lovely city, excellent transport links, trams to the ground from the centre, terrific restaurants and bars, couldn't be better. Went there a few years ago on the way to a Toulon- Scarlets Euro game and stopped off to see London Welsh play Lyon in the Challenge Cup. Spent a memorable 24 hours in the place.

Best case (personally) - Newcastle, Edinburgh, Gloucester.

So it’s.
Exeter, Saracens, Wasps, Leicester, Newcastle, Bath and Gloucester. Montpellier, Racing, Toulouse, Toulon, Lyon and Castres. Leinster, Munster, Scarlets, Blues, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Ulster. Correct? |

If Edinburgh are in top 3 tiers then we wont be able to get them at all, if they're in fourth tier then we cant get them and Gloucester.

Hard to call yet as there are draws for 2 of 3 places in tier 1. Worst case scenario, if we lose the Final (sorry!) And lose the draw with R92 and Exeter for the 4th and 5th places in Tier 1 then we go into Tier 2 ........ which gives a possible scenario of Saracen (or Exeter), Scarlets, Toulouse and Toulon!

Given the assumptions that Saracen beat Exeter, either tricky and assuming a R92 v Montpellier final with Mont victors

Best case scenario, we win Pro14 Final and get Tier status automatically, or even if we lose we go in a draw with English and French runners up for 2 spots in Tier 1, so still a 2/3 chance of getting Tier 1.
Tier 2 would be (can't have Glasgow or Munster) one of French 2nd/Eng 2nd (bad), Wasps (not bad) or Lyon/Newcastle/Castres (not bad). Tier 3 would be Castres/Newcastle/Lyon (not bad), Leicester or Toulouse. Tier 4 would be Bath, Toulon, Ulster or Gloucester So best case scenario could be: Scarlets, Wasps, Lyon, Gloucester? Sorry if this has been suggested!

If they both lose the SFs, Lyon will stay in 3rd and be bedded in tier 2 with Wasps so we'll not be able to get them both.

Toulouse are a long way back from what they used to be, and Toulon aren't the force they were either. I actually fancy Exeter to beat Sarries, but we'll see.
