Seen a few people saying this is the rumored side that Gatland will pick to face Italy, looks like he is going with Cubby & Tipuric in the back row.

15. Liam Williams, 14. Steff Evans, 13. Owen Watkin, 12. Hadleigh Parkes, 11. George North, 10. Gareth Anscombe, 9. Gareth Davies, 1. Nicky Smith, 2. Elliot Dee, 3. Tomas Francis, 4. Bradley Davies, 5. Cory Hill, 6. Justin Tipuric, 7. James Davies, 8. Taulupe Faletau (Capt)

Replacements: Ken Owens, Rob Evans, Samson Lee, Seb Davies, Ellis Jenkins, Aled Davies, Rhys Patchell, Leigh Halfpenny

Congratulations to all involved, but especially to Cubby. Off to put a cheeky tenner on him having first try,

If that's the team, Italy will really fancy it.
Keep the faith

I welcome the fact we are decreasing the scarlets contingent in the team. Makes viewing a little less nervous. Guys like shingler samson, ken rob have been putting in massive shifts for a couple months now. They could do with 2 or 3 weeks off!

that side is poor and has too many changes.

You don't drop your 4 best tight forwards for a game vs Italy and you don't start with tips and davies in the back row.

I'm all for given some new lads a start, especially dee and cubby but I'd have kept the rest of the pack.

IN saying that , our back 3 looks really exciting lets see how they do if they can get some ball

I would guess that our bench will be loaded with Rob, Ken, Samson, AWJ, Morriarty, Aled, Patch & possibly North/Halfpenny which should be more than enough if things are going awry.

Super chuffed for Cubby. Big smile Clap

Having lost 2 games, it's about finishing in the top half of the 6Ns and developing depth for RWC19. This squad does that, with second choice front row given a chance to shine against forwards-oriented opposition, and the return of veteran big-hitters like Faletau and North balancing the rookies with bags of experience.

Can't wait to see how Cubby goes - hope he keeps his discipline at Test level and shows the very best of his game - but also how Parkes controls attack and defence with Watkin alongside him, Sanjay owns the air & counter-attacks, and whether North can use his pent-up frustration to good effect - would love to see him emulate Steff by looking for the ball, with Cubby & Tips popping up in the wide channels.

But first to win the arm wrestle up front...

I tend to agree. Leadership will be an issue as Faletau, brilliant player that he is, does not come across as a natural leader. Don't understand playing Watkin out of position. He is a 12 in all games I have seen him play. Tipuric's selection at 6 is also baffling. I would have gone with Ellis Jenkins personally. I am not a fan of Anscombe but maybe he will prove me wrong. The bench has some ammunition if things go wrong. I would have had AWJ instead of Cory Hill also.

Part of me would like to see Itay sneak this, this selection is idiotic, with no balance to the back row and the one forward who should betested is Seb Davies.

Good that most of our players are  not playing and I hope the same continues against France.

I have a feeling that the majority of our players will be back against France.

One thing that stands out is we are not going to done at the breakdown this time

Cubby and tupric are excellent in that area , toby f isn't bad and smith is v good in this area

I do worry about the set piece though, davies is no line out forward and cubby and toby aren't either

We will miss shingle in this area

Samson Lee is unwell & Scott Williams has a bad haematoma which for those of you that don't watch medical dramas is a solid swelling of clotted blood within the tissues.
