Delighted for Cubby. I just hope this isnt a token exercise where he plays behind a weak front 5 and gets hauled off after 50 minutes just like patchell at twickers.....This selection is the usual OTT move by gatland. He goes 2 years with only 4 new caps now he throws in a bucketful of new caps and inexperience in just 2 games (Georgia and Italy) He failed to develop for 2 years now he throws them all in at once. Its as if hes doing it just to shut up the critics but not really giving these kids a great opportunity as hes failed to carry out a smooth ongoing transition and development. This is why we end up with a disjointed performance as with georgia or fiji a few yrs before.

Not sure if this really does help all these youngsters. Seb davies gets his first cap at 8? Then he hasnt had a look in since? He doesnt give liam a go at 15 for years despite his incredible form? Then he gets a go for the lions last minute overhapenny? Didnt he give patch his first cap at 15 in eden park? Then they didnt pick him to go on the south seas summer tour ? Then they chuck him in at twickenham with his whole backline injured and no other goal kickers and he gets dropped without a word after 2 dropped high balls? man management? Gats did the same to hook imo...lousy man management

Yes, and if he plays well at outside half then he’s brilliant and the answer to our dreams and Gatland takes all the courage credit again. Patchell would have looked as good if not better than Anscoumb against England at twickers had the roles been reversed as the English forwards were dead on their feet in the last 15 minutes so allowing the half backs to create and find space a lot more easily than in the first hour.
I bet you if patchell comes on with 20 minutes to go and plays really well, he still won’t get the same glowing praise from the coaches that Anscomb got after the English game. It’s alrea been said, Anscomb is Gatland’s pet and will always be seen differently to others in his eyes.

How on earth is that a yellow card?

Apart from the tries a pretty poor half from Wales.

Let’s hope Patchell comes on early in the 2nd. Having said that, discipline is poor. Need to be more competitive in winning the ball and respect possession a bit more.

Totally unintentionally and the fella immeadiately protested before deciding he should do a bit of acting. Penalty at worst.

I don’t like this play acting which is creeping on the edges of our game. Liam lucky though as shoulder to neck could have been red. It’s just rough justice for what was meant to be a firm tackle.

No complaints on the second yellow. No need, terrible discipline.
