I thought that they represented a cross section of the sciences, e.g. seismologists, meteorologists, etc, and they called on the scientists as and when needed, and the ones who's specialism was relevant ? So in this case they wouldn't call a seismologist who specialises in earthquakes.

Consequently, the number on the SAGE 'panel' advising the government atm would be a lot fewer.

See below, that's how I read the information.

This government has cherrypicked the science that best suits them at any given time during.  They like the science etc from other countries when it makes them look good and then poo poo it when they want to do something different.
They are a complete shambles who are only interested in self preservation (personally I mean), and their inabilities to prepare for the inevitable number of cases beggars belief and is negligent at minimum.
I only wish that we weren’t so dependent on them, especially from a financial POV.  The messages coming from all the devolved governments has been so much more consistent and sensible.

The deaths in spain have virtually disappeared , only 8 people have passed away in Spain in 4 days, good news for Spain. This means UK will tragically become the worst death rate in the world in a few days time. Im afraid that fact alone tells us how woeful our government has been.
Is there much news on the track trace app ?(which they rushed forward to detract from cummings-gate)

The public complain how long is lockdown gonna last then they complain it’s being lifted to early. Then there the dullards who are in total denial of it all. They deserve to get it.

It’s become less interactive as a forum too. Data is getting tired ( cases etc are valid). All needs a refresh.

The fact that an Alternative Sage Group was formed about a month ago tells you all you need to know about 'following the science'.

Forget 'follow the science', all the Government needed to do was follow well established Public Health guidelines, just like the succesfull countries have done. Lock down early and test test test is what I think the best advice was, and countries that did this have had less total deaths than our daily death rate.

What we actually did was watch the daily death count rise until it reached some sort of optimum point where the modellers told us to lock down.  That's pretty unbelieveable with hindsight, but we all thought they had a plan???

Indeed early on we failed to lockdown failed to test failed to protect and sent oaps back to home untested. Oh and lest we forget we were allegedly going for herd immunity ?

A Labour MP has apologised and stood down from her frontbench role after admitting breaching lockdown rules.

Rosie Duffield met her partner in her Canterbury constituency for a five-hour walk when he was still living with his wife, the Mail on Sunday reported.

Guidance in place at the time in April banned people socialising with anyone from outside their own household.

The MP said she took responsibility for her actions and would quit her role as an opposition whip in the Commons.

The Mail on Sunday said Ms Duffield and her TV director boyfriend James Routh had gone on the walk at a time when they were not living together and strict controls on people's movements were in force to prevent the spread of the virus between households.

The newspaper said Mr Routh had also visited the MP at a property she was renting in Canterbury.

'Difficult situation'

While insisting the pair had observed the two-metre social distancing rule when they met, the MP said she accepted her actions constituted a breach of the guidance at the time.

It seems we didn't have the capacity to test and trace more than a few dozen possible contacts at the start and after a couple of weeks of the alternative strategy of herd immunity someone sh**t their pants and realised hundreds of thousands were going to die.  Meanwhile,  Boris was missing in action sorting out his divorce and future heir and no one was prepared to take hard decisions ( in case they'd end up with the sack from their leader).
Enter Boris, three weeks too late and the lockdown. Thousands have died without need.
Keep the faith

After listening to her speech in the House of Commons on Domestic Abuse, I have some sympathy for her, and I wonder indeed if maybe she could have made a case for having acted within the law.

She has apologised and stood down from her role as Whip. Cummings travelled when his wife was showing symptoms. He hasn't apologised, and has treated the public as fools expecting us to believe that he'd driven 60 miles to test his eyesight !

He travelled to Durham with his child's safety in mind should he and his wife fall ill. Totally ignored his child's safety when he drove 60 miles to test his eyesight ? He admitted that the illness had affected his eyesight.
