Agree with you there Smellymike, He ust be on 100k euros for the each of the seven positions behind the scrum because he's not fully competent playing in any one of them.

Have USAP actually ever seen him play or has Andy Howell told them everything they need to know?

The Ospreys said that his move was not about money as they had matched his French salary offer.

Lyons has been one of our best ever foreign signings, irrespective of the amount we are paying him.
The stadium may change, but the dream will remain the same!

Easy to say after he's gone!

I'm not saying I disbelieve them but clubs always say stuff like that. The move is obviously about Hook's desire to: a) play at 10 and b) earn a load of cash. Perpignan could offer both, Ospreys could not. But interesting if the Ospreys were willing to pay that much for him and the type of money one of the highest rated NH players goes for.

I can't find any indication of what Regan or Byrne will be on at Clermand - does anyone have any idea out of interest?

Thought it was £740k over three years (quarter of a million a season) plus all the fringe benefits.  Ospreys couldn't compete apparently.

It's closer to that, rather than what was mentioned above.  The French press reported it as €400k per season for 3 years.

There's no way the 0's would even have matched that, let alone the figures above.

midi olympique reporting that Toulon pulled out of the deal for Lyons not only for financial reasons but also because reports on Lyons' recent displays for the Scarlets weren't that good - 'les derniers retours sur ses performances sportives sous le maillot des Scarlets.....n'offeraient pas toutes les garanties.'  They also say that his possible move to Stade depends on Parisse's future. He's yet to sign a new contract or given any indication whether he'll re-sign.
