Luckily we have plenty of strength in depth at hooker and on the wings to deal with their retirements.

What a lovely sentiment to post on a thread celebrating the retirement of a stalwart. Trolling again.

Back on topic. Thanks Emyr.
Played his heart out whenever asked and as others have said probably deserved more caps. Was one of the best hookers in Wales at his best. I have friends who have been coached by him too and they say he’s a quality coach.

Good sense of fun too https://twitter.com/emyrphillips2/status/868703257320935424?s=21

Quality player. Should have had a few more caps. He pushed Ken all the way for many seasons, just goes to show the ability of Emyr in the tight and loose. Good luck mate.
Only one team plays in red. (Sorry, Scarlet)

bad luck, a very good on field leader, hope this rubs off on to the next generation he coaches.

Big shame. If it wasn't for injuries Emyr would have had more Welsh caps. Ymddeoliad hapus Emyr a pob lwc.

That’s a crying shame: Emyr has been a great Scarlet and at times voices on here called for him to play ahead of Ken.

I hope he has a great future.
