During these dark days my mind has been wandering more than usual, I was wondering who is the fastest scarlet people have seen?

JJ is the obvious one that springs to mind, but mark jones, ieuan, ian jones and in particular Daniel stood out for me as being v rapid

Wayne proctor was one who apparently won all the tests for speed and fitness but Daniel seemed quicker than him

Any thoughts?

Also who was quickest over a short distance , jiffy  had and Cawdor has  an electric burst of speed  from "the blocks " so to speak

Gerald davies played for us and was capped along with Barry John and delme v Australia in 1966. He was once timed doing the 100m across a muddy pitch whilst wearing rugby boots at 10.5 sec

Depends how these are measured. Acceleration I don't think was Mark Jones highest points but his speed accelerated as he went on. So over the length of the pitch he would certainly be in it. So off the top of my head...

Mark Jones
Ryan Conbeer
Tomi Lewis
Kristian Phillips
Harry Robinson-quickest in Wales over 40m at one time I believe.
Steff Evans
Morgan Stoddart

Fact is unless there's some scarlets athletics championships.. We will never know!

If you go on the history of Llanelli rfc  the section covering the Schweppes cup , it shows his wonderful try v pontypool in the 91 final.  It was absolutely wonderful- he just danced round them and scored under the posts 👍👍👍

Has its advantages - he wouldn't need to self-isolate or wear a mask!!
