Well? Might do another poll in the week prior to the election to see if opinion has changed on the back of 'electioneering'. |

You know my politics mate! I don't really ally with any single party ethos, only my own principles and ideas. The closest to an affiliation I would have would be running off to the left of centre, but seeing as labour don't seem to know what socialist ideals mean anymore, there's no-one for me that I feel comfortable voting for. Vote I will, but it won't mean anything. The results will be inconsequential because the voter will have no say in the running of the country, no say in decsions, and the government will just do as they want as long as the usa says it's ok. The desire to be a politician should forever ban you from becoming one. No matter who you vote for, the government will get in. Any members of the illuminati care to comment? |

The question you have to ask yourselves here is do you prefer to be at the top of someone's priorities or at the bottom?
A vote for the English London based parties (Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrats) will mean that London and the South East of England interests come first. Wales are at the bottom of their priorities Meanwhile a vote for Plaid Cymru will see Wales' needs are met FIRST. Wales are at the top of their priorities. Edited by P Davies |

I'm not going to decide on this poll sorry Mike, until I get the election flyers through my door, and if the Monster Raving Loony Party or Captain Beany made it down my way, then I'd vote for them. And why the hell not, it's not as if they'd do any worse than any of the other over-paid wazzocks that do stand, and unfortunately in some cases, get elected.

Much as I'd like to vote for them, IMHO Plaid Cymru will always be a pitifully small minority in the government (obvious statement really!). It is also my opinion that any mp they have is just given lip service by the majority and has no real voice or influence. The main two parties have NO realistic opposition, we're not far off having the yank 2 party choice option, even though the yanks do have minority parties, they're all on a par with ours. I always come back to the yanks because they'll always be pulling the strings of our country, because our wise and sage governments are nothing more than economic and military puppets of the "voice of democracy and freedom.........." and still feel an outdated debt of gratitude to the yanks for "saving us dring the war". Next time our two leaders meet up, note if they mention the second world war at some point, they always come back to it. We need a bit of anarchy to kick this country's****, no one listens to the voters, so why vote? the only languages our esteemed leaders understand is cash, power and greed. Think I'll side with the group Conflict this time, and eff them all. No power without control.......... |

An interesting statistic I discovered over the weekend: In 1996 Wales' GDP was 87% of the UK average. Today it is 70-odd%. I thought Plaid were going to shoehorn us into the United States of Europe - some 'priority' we'll be then. P Davies - Wales and Scotland have national devolved Governments where English MPs can't vote. England doesn't have such a 'luxury'. The insistence of calling the main parties "English" either shows ignorance or the usual anti-English smear to rally the Plaid Cymru cause. In some instances their "nationalism" is pretty ironic to say the least. The "anti-culture" I call it. Shame, as there are are couple of excellent politicians emerging in Plaid at the moment. And Elfyn Llwyd has got a great Gog accent. Edited by Mike |

I always vote against. I won't trust whoever's in charge so I'll vote for whoever's got the best chance of replacing them. In Llanelli, that's plaid, when I lived in Brum, I'd vote lib dem as I wouldn't like to see labour or conservative in charge there.

I only vote if there is a chance of a Tory candidate winning. If there is then I vote for their opponent.

Mike - What is so wrong with Wales having control of its own destiny? Why should we be denied what the Republic of Ireland has? I am not in favour of a United States of Europe, but I am all for Wales having its own national status and being part of the European Union. Even Slovenia has a higher GDP than some parts of this country. Are you trying to tell us that John Redwood did a good job as Welsh Secretary? I can imagine what most of the replies to that would be!!! Edited by P Davies |

The problem is though, that hardline socialism is not conducive to a wealth creating environment IMO. I'm beginning to believe that the Assembly is a half way house for slowing down progress of public services - health is a devolved issue but the NHS in England is improving at a much quicker rate than Wales. GDP was higher relative to the UK average without the Assembly. William Hague did. |

I suppose every nation in the world is crying out for a health service like England's! In fact why not go all the way, lets have Europe's health service run by Westminster in London. It would be heaven!!! Finally, lets not blame the Assembly itself for the health service's problems, lets blame the government that are running the Assembly. Since when does Westminster get the blame for the UK's problems. Edited by P Davies |
