Saffer disaster, unbelievable how they lost it...76% territory and 15 occasions of more than 5 phases for them
Never believed they would lose, but its goodbye Saffers.

Horwell and Pococok were awesome for Oz.

Quade Cooper was absolutely abysmal.

Pocock makes a difference. In fact a massive difference for the Aussies.
He is is one man team mun, incredible strength, his arms are huge and he is an immovable object.

For me the Aussies have not been playing well, Coops is awful at the moment but they defended superbly today.
But they need Pocock.

In 1972, Roy Bergiers scored that try and said "that was for you lofty"

"All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us"

Terrible game of rugby.

Australia won the breakdown well, and Pocock and Elsom were very good, but it has to be said that it was refereed abysmally. The ref never blew for not releasing, lying in front, off feet or anything. It was a complete farce with bodies everywhere, slowing the ball up illegally and there were numerous turnovers which were plainly playing the ball by a player on the ground. It destroyed any flow the game possibly could have even with a side as incredibly one dimensional as south africa.

That SA were so close to winning also says about how little Australia offered. In part this was due to how bad Cooper was, he just kicked possession away time and time again and he should have been off at half time, did Australia even have centres? One break from Beale was pretty well the highlight of the whole game.

If anyone wishes to have a completely biased picture of the rugby offered by the NH compared to SH, please show Wales v. Ireland on behalf of the North and this game on behalf of the South. If this game was two NH sides then both sides would be ripped to shreds for their negativity and lack of basic skills. To hear Pinaar and the ITV crew bigging it up after about the big tackles, physicallity and defences etc. is covering over the fact that it was a game played by brain dead lumps who have no rugby guile (SA) and the error count and pointless kicking (from both sides) in such good conditions was laughable.

England Scotland was more enjoyable.
