It says in their accounts, the WRU bought the pub inside the arms park last year?
How can they afford this in such times of austerity , with all 4 professional rugby regions making huge losses?
Whilst this project may turn out to be a lucrative one in the long term, in the short term it does make one wonder how they have £10 million at hand , yet are unable to increase regional funding to a more competitive level?

They probably thought the AP would be up for sale. The Blues had moved; the RFC would follow and it would be theirs.... However, the best laid plans ..... And now their offer, a couple of weeks after the Blues have moved back in, looks ridiculous.

This is the Blues' way of upgrading CAP, it was inevitable the moment they announced they were moving back. Cardiff and WRU are one in my opinion and this stinks to high heaven. They're all Self serving, self interested crooks who should be brought to account by all the other member clubs, but unfortunately it won't happen.

Its still 1 member 1 vote right? all theyd need is an EGM and get enough clubs onside to vote out pickering and / or rog , there must be some displeasure at grass roots with all their funding being taken away over the last few years

Before we go anywhere with a tirade against the WrU and seek support from member clubs, it may be well to remember that we did not win many friends with our "stand alone" campaign in 2002/2003.
That is not to say that I agree with the constitution of the WRU at all. Needs total reform, imo.

Lovely neighbours, the Arms Park has concrete cancer and the symmetry of the Milli stadium is ruined with that blown out of proportion Cardiff Arms Park. The Blues fannies are hoping the WRU buy the Arms Park and they can turn the pitch round 180 degrees and remove that old falling down stand that supports the National stadium, the Blues lot reallt believe they are a cut above everyone and their greed has no bounds. Pathetic. |

So basically the rest of Welsh rugby needs to find their own funding to build/develop stadiums with the WRU giving them as little as they possibly can and the Blues get a hassle free new ground off the WRU. Nice.

The wru seem to see it as a big investment, inc pubs, hotel like twickenham, corporate hospo, luxury flats etc in addition to finishing the mill stad to close to 80,000 they can also host champions league finals with this extra facility next door. sounds ambitious but will regions get a slice of any profits?
