Gents - I really rate Gwyn as a critic - he calls it as he sees it and he's a bright guy - that's undeniable - to qualify as a doctor after an horrific injury takes guts and brains - Gwyn has both. I'd like to know more about the comment in the pub from on Friday night please Rob. As for Mr Jollie getting him ratted in Brive - it's ok - I've paid Jollie back for that one :)

Gwynn is probably one of the most honest and knowledgable commentators on the circuit. He has played at the highest level and was touted as a future captain.
He is desperate for a strong regional game in Wales and is very frustrated when he sees basic errors being made by what are essentially well paid top class players.
He is correct to be critical as we all are.

looking back on the season, and i`m glad i didn`t bother buying a season ticket.
when will we learn? how many times do rob gog, turnbull and shingler have to get creamed in big games before we realise as a unit they aint good, big, strong, or hard enough.
our whole ethos is a passive one on the pitch. rugby is a game for bullies. in which the scarlets role is normally walter the softy.
even our big players get beasted in the big games by players beneath them in international ranking.

Agree with all of that apart from the season ticket because I did buy one and I'll buy another for next season.

Would appreciate if you would back up this with some quotes, please. I find it difficult to believe that Gwyn Jones would venture to voice in public that he hates the Scarlets. Can any other forum member confirm your story?

I didn't get him ratted, we made minor contact with one other in the 'Battle of Brive' pub and he came off worse, poor dab.
BTW, I left 2 cans of electric lemonade in your fridge on Friday night - don't suppose there's any chance they survived the weekend?

| I worked with him for a few weeks several years ago. Very shy person in real life and a bit of a loner - unfortunately comes over as arrogance. Didn't strike me as a Scarlet hater although he did confirm that he disliked the way that Salesi Finau played with us as being "over the top". He realises that his comments can sometimes be abrasive and when an ex-international friend of mine asked me to pass on his good wishes to Gwyn, he replied "one of the few players still talking to me".

Is this a private joke or would you like to share it? I would still like to know what Gwyn Jones said exactly and in what context. Would anyone else care to enlighten us about what happened or what was said on Friday night in the pub after the game? By the way, I am not defending either Gwyn or Huw Eic's comments about getting a taxi. That was very thoughtless, and uncalled for. I know quite well that those comments do not reflect a general disrespect or hatred for the Scarlets on their part. If you are not prepared to tell us precisely what Gwyn Jones said to make you accuse him of hating the Scarlets, why should anyone believe you? Any witnesses prepared to flesh this out? No doubt, BBC Wales and S4C would be be hugely embarrassed if these accusations were proven to be true. On that point scarlet rob. have you written to the broadcasters to complain about this? I respectfully suggest that you do, because if you do have evidence of such misconduct, I would expect the commentator in question to be reprimanded, without question.

Lets be honest if they had said taxi for the Ospreys in a similar situation we would hae found it amusing. Which was wrong was the fact that they said it at a time when one of our players was injured. I I really didnt take offence from the comments myself. In life we have to learn to laugh at ourselves. I certainly have to . I was in school with Gwyn and he is an arrogant person.

It's up to you, but I was just backing Scarlet Rob up ! There were others there who witnessed it,not all Forum Members, but as I found to my cost, posting things of a personal nature on public forums, can have a detrimental effect on career paths ! Sometimes things are better kept "off record" than in the public domain !
