"Limitations live only in our minds. But if we use our imaginations, our possibilities become limitless". Jamie Paolinetti
The King from England
Once more into the breach, dear friends, once more; Or close the wall up with our English dead. In peace there's nothing so becomes a man. As modest stillness and humility;
But when the blast of war blows in our ears, then imitate the action of the tiger;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood. Disguise fair nature which had favour'd rage;
Then land the eye a terrible aspect; let pry through the portage of the head, like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it. As fearfully as doth a gulled rock.
O'erhang and jutty his confounded base, swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean.
Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide, hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit to his full height. On, on, you noblest English.
Whose blood is set from fathers of War-proof!!. Fathers that, like so many Alexanders, have in thses parts from morn till even fought.
And sheathed their swords for lack of arguement; dishonour not your mothers; now attest that those whom you call'd fathers did beget you.
Be Copy now to men of grosser blood and teach them how to WAR. And you, good yeoman, whose limbs were made in England, show us here the mettle of your pasture; let us swear.
That you are worth your breeding; which i doubt not;
For there is none of you so mean and base, that hath not noble lustre in your eyes. I see you standing like greyhounds in the slips, straining upon the start. The game's afoot;
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge cry " God for Harry, England and St George"
As yet again the English seek more money, destroying a bastion of competition in the precious HC, a Welshman, maybe a pauper write's his speech to those that care to listen.
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old rage should burn and rave at close of day:
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words have forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the night.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight
And learn, too late, they grieved it on it's way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, i pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Dylan.
And so the Welsh, us go into England with the knowledge we are not rated, perhaps not wanted to dine at the table of kings.
A small 3 million country, living off scraps from it's rich and hugely populated country of 58 million with nobility and everything. And yet it's still not enough.
So this weekend a marker can be layed firmly on a plot of land in London, that we will not go quietly into the night and that the Welshmen from West Wales, may be quite souls, but we have heart and passion and guts and we do our brilliance on the pitch hail . We havent got a full stength 15, we dont have vaults of cash to pick and mix, we are paupers in comparison, but we do have something pretty unique and special and that's being Welsh.
And this Saturday we are fighting for our worth and glory in England for the HC and the first verse of our Anthem is better than any Kings speech.
" Mae hen wlad fy nhadau yn annwyl i mi,
Gwlad beirdd a chantorion, enwogion o fri
Ei gwol ryfelwyr, gwladgarwyr tra mad
Tros ryddid gollasant eu gwaed"
Beat the English, in London, born and bred in West Wales, the Scarlets, for our land of our fathers.

'Look what these B******s have done to Wales. They've taken our coal, our water, our steel. They buy our houses and they only live in them for a fortnight every 12 months. What have they given us? Absolutely nothing. We've been exploited, raped, controlled and punished by the English - and that's who you are playing this afternoon” Phil Bennet before Wales v England game 1977.

I am sure this is going to p1ss a lot of people off, but facts are facts. The Scarlets are becoming a laughing stock in UK rugby,somewhat like the Dragons were last year. We have coaches who cannot coach, are not respected by the players and cannot motivate any of them. This is the darkest period of a once fine club. Sorry to be such a gloom monger, but things are dire.

Alas Im not expecting an owain Glyndwr ambush or rourkes drift defiance, but a modicum of improvement and flair would suffice

We will win tomorrow, and those fans that make the journey can count themselves privileged that they were there. As Earle said in the media, Scarlets have a habit of shafting teams in the first round of this cup. If every player throws themselves into this game, knowing the guy either side of them won't let them down - we will win. The players have the talent, they have the stones, they just need to bring it all to the party - and believe.
