he got us to a semi down under, in the uk with a big support and home comforts it wouldn't be a shock to see us do better,

Gatland record as a coach speaks for itself

hc winner, Aviva winner, itm winner, grand slam winner x 2, lions winner.

You can't doubt his quality with a record like that

We wont win the WC, we cant even beat NZ or SA for what is like 50 years......Gatty is a poodle.

In 1972, Roy Bergiers scored that try and said "that was for you lofty"

"All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us"

In a group containing Australia and England at Twickenham, where we're likely to play South Africa if we get through?

Yes, it will be a shock if we even reach another semi final, let alone do better.

Look at his CV and what happened in Ireland when he was coach there. There is no basis whatsoever for you to call this guy a poodle.
I still wake up late at night and think of what might have been when tim stimpson hit that jammy penalty1

Gats has a good CV, but he also has taken us to one of our worst runs of losses in history!  Under him it is either a feast or a famine.

Whilst a semi-final in the RWC was good, it was not the hardest of routes there.  We beat Namibia, Samoa, Fiji and Ireland, but lost to South Africa, France and Australia.  That means we only won 1 game more than we lost.  That isn't really a brilliant result.

Under Gats we have played that god awful crash ball, mindless kicks, and typewriter back play (one touchline to the other and back again).  It has won games for us, but has also been so transparent that decent sides have coped with it no problems.

Unless Gats can find another tactic, or a plan B, the I fear we will continue to go from boom to bust and back again, for the next 6 years.

Lack a top out half, and depth at 9, 8, and 3. Everything else is in place.

revisionist history there we lost to the boks by 1 point when a 3 pointer was incorrectly ruled out, we lost to France when we had 14 men for over an hour.

We were clearly the second best side in that world cup.

The only side that has beat us with no problems has been the all blacks, every other game has gone down to one score
When you look at the shambles he picked up from Gypo he has done a great job, attempts to say otherwise just don't make sense

The stuffing Australia gave us in the 3rd/4th place playoff suggests we weren't clearly the second best. I agree we should've beaten France in the semi.

Gatland was given better resources than Jenkins. How do you think Gatland would've done had the WRU told him he had to have Rowland Phillips, someone who had never coached at pro level, as his defence coach rather than Shaun Edwards?

I hope the WRU have a break clause if it turns sour, which can easily happen even with top coaches. We don't want a Eddie O'Sullivan situation.

What stuffing to Australia? It was a narrow loss! They lost 21-18. Look Jenkins messed up, he wasn't good enough. Gatland with more the less the same group of players won a Grandslam a few short months later! Say's it's own story really doesn't it.

We have a group of players capable of beating anyone on the day, and we can most definitely beat Australia and England at Twickenham. The question is, will we bottle it in the World Cup, like we usually do, when it counts.

I also think that we have the best possible chance of beating these teams with Gats in charge, he is an excellent coach.

Exactly it is all on the day. Impossible to predict, but with Gatland having his players in camp for a significant period of time prior to the tournament, if we stay clear of too many injuries, and have a bit of luck we can make a big impact.
