Ospreys have signed Georgian skipper Giorgi Nemsadze on a short term deal to boost their Champions Cup qualification hopes.

With Jason Strange taking over the Blues it had me thinking... have they actually signed anyone for 2018/19 yet? With Cuthbert leaving I would think North is heading there?

Yes, he's done well with age-grade squads. It'll be interesting to see how he goes at regional level.

He’s always struggled with consistency in his style he wants to develop. He wants to play running rugby but when he comes up against big packs he reverts to forward play. But all in all a good appointment for the blues. He will be able to guide the new coach on new additions from wales.

After initially doing well as Wales Under 20s coach, that age grade team have regressed played poorly and have been awful to watch recently in all honesty ...

Nothing to do with style some class backs there this season and we played a bish bosh game from years back, simply awful and last season was the same as was the last World Cup. All the best to Jason Strange though ex Scarlet and a nice guy to boot ...

The way things are going now at the Blues, they must be gutted that Wilson and Matt Sherratt are leaving. Something major must have gone on behind the scenes.

Early in the season, there was chaos & no clarity behind the scenes at CAP - the 'focus' of the board was on securing the long-term home of the club, with the possibility of handing the keys (if only temporarily) to the WRU until the CAP redevelopment or alternative ground were resolved. Given this background, and dire lack of squad development budget, Wilson's player and recruitment vision were massively compromised, so he saw his future elsewhere in a role and with a club which has already been through that pain and is now forging a stable, ambitious plan for the future. Since then, he's started to work his magic on the team, and the fruits are now there to be seen - perhaps with the pressure being off him, and the players beginning to play for their own futures and for each other, things have turned around. But the next coach will still have the same fabric to work with unless and until the Cardiff Blues are on a steady financial course. |

The Blues have some players who aren’t far off the best in their position in the league - Lee-Lo, Nick Williams, Ellis Jenkins.
They also have a very good core of young players ready to make the jump up to full time players/Welsh internationals - Corey Domachowski, Dillon Lewis, Seb Davies, Tomos Williams, Jarrod Evans, Owen Lane, Rhun Williams. If they can get things off the field right and get some decent investments it should be a very attractive proposition for a head coach. |
