Yes just read that - not in the same league as Jackson needs must. Pienaar & Jackson have been a huge loss to Ulster which they are still struggling to overcome.

Pienaar is completely unconnected to the court case. He’s had one year in Montpellier already. It was Oldimg that was shown the door with Jackson. |

Correct EO - Pienaar fell foul of the IRFU's policy on home grown versus imports. The new no 9 has had a decent season but I don't see Burns as the answer at 10.

Agreed, possibly finances a bit tight given he isn't the box office name compared to Pienaar, Piutau & Lealiifano who have recently left Ulster....

Pienaar left because the IRU refused to grant Ulster an extension of his contract
Piutau, left to go to Bristol where allegedly he is on really silly money, some reports say £1 million a season. Lealiifano, left as he was only on a short term contract to replace Jackson, who they assumed would be back with Ulster, and Lealiifano contract was to help him gain fitness after his cancer treatment. Apparently Ulster are a rich region, starting to rebuild. |

All correct Dai38. Piutau is pretty overrated in my mind & nowhere near worth the money he is reportedly being paid by Bristol. I can't decide which is the worst bit of business for next season Piutau or Finn Russell to Racing. Tough call for me!!!! With regard to Ulster it will take the new coach a season or so to get it right but they should be up there challenging on both fronts.

I tend to agree with you regarding Piutau, GPR, but on one of the Sky Pro14 matches last season coaches and senior players were asked what player would they like from another region and he came top by a mile, including a certain Wayne Pivac.
So while not totally convinced, he has gained a bit of street cred with me. Seems a little selfish and inconsistent.

Yes I know what you are saying - he has a huge reputation similar in many ways to Fonotia. Perhaps the Ospreys loss may be our gain.
