In the interest of fairness I've put the Judgement Day fixtures down as sellouts at the home teams respective grounds, 12k for Blues and 8.5k for Dragons.

the judgement day crowd was 52500, that should be split between blues and dragons so those games should count as 26250 each

That's going to completely skew the figures and boost their average unreasonably. Iow i'm not doing that.

But just for you Roy:

2014-15 Cardiff Dragons Ospreys Scarlets Munster Leinster Ulster Connacht Glasgow Edinburgh Treviso Zebre Season Average
Blues - 10900 26250 9443 6902 7053 7041 5624 6897 5740 5028 6487 8851

Scarlets only region to have a drop in attendance.

cheers minded...yes it does skew them, but those people paid for their tickets so it counts. made a heck of a difference to their overall average....when you include those figures do you know the overall average for regional rugby and is it close to moffetts magical 8000 target?

Well, and the Dragons too, come to think of it.  But the Scarlets were certainly ONE of the regions showing a drop in attendance.

Ok Ive tried to calculate total average crowds and aggregate crowds for the whole season for the league, for Europe and sum totals and averages for the 2 competitions combined. (excluded the lv cup, is that continuing?)

pro 12 league average crowds

              league 2015           2014        Europe 2015        2014

blues                 8851           7790               5477               9947

ospreys             8398           7920               7399               9037

dragons             7771           6164               5936(x4)        4853

scarlets              7069           7321               8244               7843

total aggregate crowds (exc lv cup) overall average crowds

                      2014            2015                          2014        2015

Blues            113792      115 531                        8128        8252   (up 124)

Ospreys        114231     114575                          8159       8184    (up 25)

Dragons        82363       109225                         5883       7282 (up 1399)

Scarlets        104060      102491                         7433       7321 (down 112)

total overall average 2015 is 7751 (still short of moffets 8000 average target)up 350 from 7401 in 2014

Crowds and general end of season report...

The judgement day made a huge impact. Overall these figures imo are actually far better than Id expected. The start of the season was drab dull and miserable. Endless arguments, political squabbles, no participation deal, no tv or European deals and several star names gone like foxy, halfpenny, hibbard etc. The games were dull the results not great. But come the spring, we have dodger and pickering going going gone and davies in place. All deals doen for tv, europe, wru participation , joint central contracts (the obvious solution Something I mentioned to eddie butler at stradey 10 years ago)

Crowds have grown, 12 star players have been signed up on ndc's, judgement day record pro 12 crowd of 52,500 was fantastic.

Results improved as did performances. Wales beat the boks for only the 2nd time ever, lead the all blacks after 70 minutes and of course threw it away again against the wallabies lol, then won 4 out of 5 in the 6 nations despite the English 2nd half nightmare, ended up 5th in the world...

Dragons made the European shield semi final, their crowds have gone up an incredible 1399 over the whole season.

Ospreys grew and grew and now make the pro 12 play off semi finals and Europe. Dare I say it I hope they win it, good boost for regional rugby imo

Weve been strange up and down but only lost 1 home game and made Europe for the 20th year in a row, not bad for a tinpot down eh lol?

Blues have been appalling .....but thanks to judgement day their crowds are actually up overall by 124? They've kept warburton geth Cuthbert...they have tom james cory allen due back...they need to build a side around them and imo keep patchell at 10

imagine what we could achieve with stability and no petty squabbling

Technically shouldn't it be 17k each as the attendance is split 4 ways?

I really can't comprehend the European attendances across all teams. Ours is a little embarrassing, it seems we have a lot of fans who won't pay to watch the best in the world but only turn up if they think we'll win.

Same goes for the blues and dragons. More people turn up to watch Treviso than European games against teams you wouldn't normally get to watch.

We need to start competing for silverware to try and raise attendances. Our cupboards have been bare for far too long, and there is only so far that initiatives, incentives, PR and marketing will go before the effect that they have, starts to dwindle too. Shocked

We were pretty close this season with getting into the Top 4, and it would have given us a huge boost going into next season regardless if we'd have got to the final. We have to push even harder next season, it is the only way! Shocked

I expect season ticket renewals to drop with families being forced to move to the west stand or pay an additional 110 quid to retain their current seats

the valleys cast is attending town this week and people are actually paying £8 for the PRIVELIGE cough cough of metting these beauts. alas the younger generation love a bit of this hype and once it goes VIRRAL then everyone jumps on the bandwagon. It wouldnt surprise me if foxy and rob gog had a pie eating contest at the shop, if it got more online hits than the matches themselves. heck get gypo and easterby to lead a road to ammarrillo march from the shop the the parc....whatever ....if the natives want nonsense , sell nonsense....10 million people watch deadenders every night, if junk sells, sell junkWink

anythings better than rrw and wru squabbling over wonga zzzzzzzz

Gloucester R.F.C. did a walk around the city with fans, starting and finishing at Kingsholm and those who attended and raised money for charity got free tickets for a Northampton game. Wouldn't mind doing a "post to post" walk between the Berwick roundabout and Sandy Water Park.
