Seeing as it's two hours till kick off and no one has started the match thread, I thought I may as well do it.

Today's game promises to be a very physical and challenging one, which is what you expect from the reigning French and European Champions. Toulon have started the season in decent form, nothing special, and actually lost last week against Toulouse.

I'm actually quite excited about the game today, the main reason for this being that we have nothing to lose, nobody is expecting us to win, so it won't be a disaster if we lose. I just hope that we don't get blown away by Toulon early on because then the floodgates will most likely open. Toulon have brilliant support at home, and it will be very difficult to play if they get on top early doors.

Lets just think back to the 06/07 Heineken Cup when we beat Toulouse, at their home, 41-34. We were probably bigger underdogs back then than we are today, and especially being 20 points down on two seperate occasions, we still found something, somewhere, that allowed us to front up and fight back. That famous day showed that it isn't impossible to beat the big boys in France.

Front up, that is what I think we need to do today. The Toulon pack is undoubtably more muscular and powerful than ours, but if we can front up then maybe we can have parity in the scrums and not allow them to turn over the ball at the ruck.

I can't see us winning today, but I will be satisfied if we give 100% and play some free-flowing rugby and keep the ball in hand. My prediction; Scarlets 16-Toulon 30.
