These two players really showed up this morning with great attacking intent.

Hope we can keep them fit, as I cannot wait to see what they can do for us next season!!Clap

Liam is a class act.

Interesting that Gatland likes him at 15 whilst he is playing 10 for us .Mind you it's like Liam at full back or wing!

I was tremendously impressed with both. Patchell hasn't even played for a month or so, doesn't know any of the drills, and gets thrown in to an AB match. The guy deserves every plaudit.

Look on the bright side, 8 of our side for next season are going to find the opposition rather tame compared to what they are facing now. that alone will surely put is in good stead for the Pro 12.

Our season rests in the hands of the injury gods.

The gulf in quality between our first and second choice XVs is enormous.

Has it narrowed or widened compared to last season?

Can't see how it will narrow if the 1st choice have played the AB's over the Summer and the rest had the summer off and back for same old same old pre season.  Maybe the experience will rub off when they return.

Liam has been outstanding the past 2 weeks.  Patchell showed some good stuff considering he was pulled of the golf course to fly out.  Looked a bit out of place at times but understandable.  Foxy put a big shift in this week too.  Ken a bit quieter but it wasn't as open a game as the week before which suited him down to the ground. SH rugby doesn't suit Samson at all more an euro set piece player, but he's young and still work in progress.

I'm not saying that I'm entirely happy with our depth clearly we have to have a bit of luck with injuries. I'm just saying that in comparison to the last couple of years it has improved. For example when we lose Samson we now have a Springbok tighthead to call upon and Pete can do an adequate job. Hooker we have some depth, also in the midfield and scrum half. Still lack depth in the back three and at lock but our squad is improving IMO

I think Patchell at fullback could be a good attack option, considering the good performances in this JWC. He could be our next 10 and Patchell 15 as second playmaker...of course his first option its 10, and above all hope we stop our unlucky tradion with injuries

So assuming that the whole backline are called up for international duty and unavailable

Steff Evs
Tom Williams
Steff Hughes
Hadleigh
Richard Smith / Gareth Owen
Dan Jones
Aled / Jon Evs

I know it isn't a world class backline, but its still capable of doing a job during the AIs and 6Ns
