On top of Zane Kurchener, Henson now joins Dragons on 2 year deal. Must be some WRU influences there? Henson did well in last club and has had injuries with time out. Will certainly liven up the Welsh derbies. Class player who lost his way in his prime and some may say thankfully lost his wife!!Embarrassed

Both the Blues and the Dragons seem to have a lot of their own youngsters coming through and so long as the oldies can show a good example and use their experience to help them through they might be worthwhile. However some of the names mentioned have been anything but a good example in the past.

32 year old Ian Evans that's averaged about 10 games a season for the last 2 and a half seasons.

35 year old Henson who's also averaged about 10 games a season for the last 2 and a half seasons.

Zane Kirchner a 33 year old back 3 player that's scored 9 tries in 4 years and averages about 40 metres a game at one of the best attacking clubs in Europe.

Moneyball signings they are definitely not.

If all 3 stay injury free, and it is a big IF, then it's the sort of experienced players they need to start rebuilding.
Be careful when you pick up the stick.........IT MAY BE THE WRONG END!!!!!!!!!!

He joined Bristol is 2014 and 18 of 27 games were in his first season, he only played 9 games last season and 2 so far this season.

He's not the player he was, not anywhere near it.

I understand that Ian Evans has had problems, but he's still only 32.

I don't know but 3 quality signings of a certain age who can together really help gel the young Dragons team. I reckon WRU are fully behind these decisions . Henson will also put extra bums on seats.

Can't see Henson putting bums on seats. Simply is not one of those players anymore. The new generation of supporters have no idea who he is. He has been out of the line light, out of Europe, Welsh squad, and most of his rugby has been in English championship in last 3yrs.

He can still probably turn it on every now and then...but I prefer Foxy/Scott/Parkes!

Their signings have BAGS of experience that they can pass on to players so someone like Tyler Morgan can benefit playing alongside Henson perhaps. But as already mentioned injury prone bit of an understatement and going to the bottom side of pro 12 (bar Italian) shows that they may be tackling more than they attack.

I do however believe no matter how risky these are, for the Dragons, risks worth taking.
