If Halfpenny becomes available, all conditions can be met and we have first refusal, then we`d be idiots not to sign him. He`s only 28 and is one of the few genuine match winners in the professional game. He also brings a fair degree of intelligence to the table as well.

Do you really mean we have first refusal on signing 1/2p?

No. He means if we had first refusal, we would be idiots not to sign him. If.

If a region makes an offer, does that make him a wild card IF he goes to an AVP club? Will Gatland's law disintegrate yet again?

Surely the Blues offer for him a few months ago makes him a wildcard.

Did the Blues actually make an offer? They were lining one up butthey and the WRU could not agree the length of contract.

He's already a wildcard.

Faletau, Halfpenny, Roberts, Sanjay, Priestland and I think Charteris current wild cards IIRC.

Tom Francis, Owen Williams, not captured.

Not sure about North.

I thought you became a wild card if you turned down a regional offer to go to AVP or T14?

Apparently Charteris is not a wildcard as he signed for Bath before a formal offer was made from a region. North is a wildcard though.

I would think that halfpenny would be a wildcard as he has been offered an NDC however they couldn't agree on the length. Halfpenny wanted a 2 and a half year contract so he could play super rugby.

Quite concerning there have been no formal announcements though of 'New' Signings. No replacements rumoured for Bernado and Morgan Allen and the only signing of note to replace Sanjay and DTH is Prydie.

Agree.  Baffling there's no announcements on those "done deals" with training starting next week!!
I would say that Morgan Allens replacement is both Macleod and Tom Phillips.

Bernardo....needs a replacement as we only have 4 locks.

Prydie..."close to announcement" what seems like MONTHS ago!!! is it still happening!?

Think Pivac sees us having 5 locks - Rawlins, Beirne, Ball, Bulbring & Price. I know many on here have questioned whether Lewis is a 5 or 6 but from his performances alongside Beirne in the Dublin matches I think he has removed any doubts once & for all.

Priestland won't be a wild card next season. His contract with Bath expired and no-one in Wales took him on based on his true market value. On that basis, he isn't caught next season

I suppose both McLeod and Phillips could fill that position. Would be nice too if Condy can put his injury woes behind him and step up. Looks impressive when watching him for the rfc.

I still think we need another lock though and hopefully we can add 6-7 kilos on to Beirne and Rawlings.

With Ball, Beirne, Bullbring, Price, Shingler and Rawlins all able to cover lock, I can't see us adding too much here.
