Crazy that the Aviva get the Pro 14 final again this season.

Just shows that this league has it's strings pulled in Dublin.Angry

Personally I don't buy into this run by the Irish for the Irish mantra that seems to be a continuing theme on this forum. As I understand it we have within our playing countries ( pre South African teams) four stadia which now satisfy the growing attendance demands - Aviva, Principality, Murrayfield & Stadio Olympica. The WRU ruled out Cardiff, travel for competing fans would rule out Rome so we are left with a choice of two. Look at the history of pro 12 successes and it is littered with Irish victors & now the main sponsor is Guinness. Its a no brainer from my point of view.

I would however favour, now that attendances are up, a rota system whereby each of the above mentioned 4 were given a final every 4 years.

Championship wins by country:

Ireland: 56.25%
Wales: 37.5%
Scotland: 6.25%

Final venues hosted by country:

Ireland: 75%
Scotland: 25%
Wales: 0%

Pathetic

Think your figures suggest a Scottish bias rather than an Irish one!!! What do you expect organisers to do when venues which are large enough declare unavailability?

A little over 2 years ago, Ravenhill was large enough for the final with it's 17k capacity. What a coincidence that it's no longer big enough. I guess they got in just in time.

There are plenty of stadia in the UK that could host it. But as I keep saying, because the competition is not fit for purpose, it will revert back to Dublin unless there is a rare opportunity for the Principality stadium or Murrayfield to put their hands up.

Why would the organisers or indeed the competitors use a venue outside the competing nations when there are sufficient within? In what way is the competition not fit for purpose.? The fact that Ravenhill is no longer big enough should be a reason for celebration. In my humble opinion there are far too many on this forum who see everything as a glass half full with intrigue around every corner/decision. What a total waste of energy.

They should have it so the winners of the championship host it the next season. Thus rewarding champions.

I never advocated doing so at all.

You're free to think whatever you choose. In my opinion, there are far too many in Welsh rugby who are subservient, submissive and apathetic. This results in a weak rugby culture where supporters and teams just acquiesce and nod rather than challenge systems to try and benefit themselves. Like others have done, and have reaped the benefits. We now just nod and let it wash over us.

It's not fit for purpose because the final reverts to Dublin 75% of the time. You can debate the reasons, but that's a fact. And the organisers have the gall to call it a "true cross border competition"

You have your opinion and I have mine. I don't intend wasting any more time trying to understand your reasoning because from where I stand there isn't any just the usual knock it cos I can. Enjoy your season as the reigning champions of such a useless competition. Now thats what I call PATHETIC.

I know ed Sheehan supposedly? It's the same weekend of May as last year if they wanted it then they could have gone for it. Don't get why a nation needs to bid for it? Can't they rota it to make it fair or go to the nation that won it previously?
