Unfortunately, players are to a certain extent a commodity, it happens all the time in football. Sanchez to Man U springs to mind and if you factor in all the variables....

1) Our financial position
2) The argument with the Union
3) The make up of our team at the time (star studded back line, pack getting handed its arse every week)
4) The fact that North had already had his head turned
5) His market value
6) His contract value

The club did exactly the right thing. Whether this was handled rightly behind the scenes I don't know.
agree with most of your post apart from the highlight.

Jackman is a desperate man who sees a prize slipping away.  He should check his facts - slavery was abolished in 1833 so no one could sell George without his knowledge.  To best of my recollection George declined to extend his contract.    We approached Northampton - without his knowledge and probably could have been handled better - but it was then his decision whether to move to Northampton.  Hope he makes his mind up soon, wherever he's going, because it's all getting a bit boring!

Jackman is making a complete fool of himself.

Is he the clown for the WRU's circus act that is the Dragons?

Absolute joke of a team.
Go ahead..........Take those banana's

Wholly unnecessary comments from Jackman who is quickly developing a habit for petulance.
Ultimately George North will do what George North feels will benefit George North in the business of being George North.
A genuine great but perhaps a distraction we don't need at this moment in time, with any investment seemingly being better spent on the impossible ask of replacing Tadgh and JB.

Signing George won't affect signing replacements for Barclay and Beirne who have already been signed
I still wake up late at night and think of what might have been when tim stimpson hit that jammy penalty1

Jackman should worry more about his integrity and how he is turning the league into a farce with sending his team out away from home to the slaughter.

I want us to put a massive score on this bunch of rabble next game.

For anyone in doubt to what actually happened it is clearly stated what happened with regards a French team making bids for him to buy his contract out. How George turned down the contract, and how Northampton came involved.

Maybe the club offered a low contract to George knowing he would not accept it, and would force the issue through with the political situation at that time. It is a shame that George suffered being the sacrifice in those volatile times.

sorry to bring this up again, but this saga took another twist yesterday.

saints saying he didnt make himself available. Twitter reports suggesting possible sightings of George and Pivac in Weatherspoons Llanelli, chatting over a pint.

Is this true?

Can we safely assume.......that Weatherspoons Llanelli has become the new Stradey cark park for the rumour mill?

Such a shame to see that old pub used by fans of Stradey and the Steel Works now boarded up and looking an mess.

Sara Elgan on Exeter v Saracens match made a point of mentioning George’s unavailability for Saints yesterday. Hopefully this issue is resolved soon, in our favour. I highly doubt it though. More than likely we’ll have to wait until after the 6N is over.
Only one team plays in red. (Sorry, Scarlet)
