Not my favourite ref by a long way, but Scarlets' discipline is pretty good, and I'm not sure the same is true of Toulon... we may yet win on penalties!

John lacey had an absolute shocker against the ospreys fair play, Gave sarries every 50/50 and some bizzare calls on top of that.
Quite happy with wayne barnes, would suit the attacking team coming from the aviva and how they ref the rucks. Edited by Matthew Cardey - 15 January 2018 at 9:24am |

Diolch Ian. That compensates for the loss of Steff but makes a mockery of the old rhyme- "sticks and stones may break my bones but dirty names will never hurt me" , or words to that effect. nothing about mid-air collisions though. I'm sure Toulon will be fuming.

Barnes is generally excellent, more than happy with him.

Referee: Wayne Barnes (Eng) Assistant referees: Tom Foley (Eng), Paul Dix (Eng) TMO: David Grashoff (Eng) Citing Commissioner: Wade Dooley (Eng) WADE DOOLEY!! Talk about poacher turned gamekeeper. Phil Davies jaw knows all about a Dooley haymaker. How many weeks would he have had for that these days? |

I think Dooley was a policeman - he should have arrested himself after that cowardly attack on Phil.

Dooley was a hard man. Ideal Citing Commissioner - he has been to the dark side and back!
