I like it: shows loyalty and rewards performance and in-form players. Plus the early announcement says you now have to deal with us

Take away their power and what have they got? Their side is almost the same one we beat in the world cup when we were stuck with warrenball and most of our bois were in A and E

Haven't been to Twickers for years - they used to have a champagne lunch on the open boots of their Bentleys - don't suppose that happens now with all the 'hospitality' packages.

I don't think that is what we're seeing here - only Hill is an injury doubt, and just think how Adams (for example) would feel if Gats told him on Thursday - "Josh - you're injured." Adams: "No, I'm not." Gats: "Yes, you are - tough!"

Quite frankly, I don't think for a minute that sort of thing will happen.

Didn't something like that happen with Scott before?

The only change I would like to have seen to the bench would be Anscombe being dropped, and Owen Williams coming in.  That would give us proper cover for fly half, centre, and wing (with Rhys and Steff covering fullback), instead of having to squeeze a fullback into fly half, or winger into centre.

Adam Beard and centre Owen Watkin have been retained by the Welsh management, I would assume this is due to the possibility of any issue with Hill's concussion & Adams's strain.

Some common sense on releases at last. Why have we had years of retaining almost the whole squad?

11 players released for the weekend, including Cubby and Elias to play for Scarlets v Benetton. Thumbs Up

Cardiff (v Cheetahs) - Cuthbert, Seb Davies, Jenkins, Dillon Lewis, Tomos Williams
Dragons (v Glasgow) - Amos
Ospreys (v Connacht) - Nicky Smith (Watkin & Beard retained by Wales)

The English-based players have to be released if not named in the 23, so Sanjay will get some game time for Sarries v Newcastle and Owen Williams for Glaws v Tigers.

Another advantage of naming the Wales team on a Tuesday, and a subtle but welcome change in policy from Gats & Co, perhaps. Clap

Yes, English rugby has gone downmarket in recent years - too many oiks from state schools playing and supporting now. Oh, for the good old days of the 'old school tie' brigade!Cry

Thanks for those details.

It looks as if there's been a somewhat belated outbreak of common sense!

Cast your minds back to the autumn internationals. Everyone saying Gatland and co are poo, sooner they go the better. Now we beat a poo Scottish team and we’re grand slam contenders. 🤦🏻‍♂️

They must be wrapping the squad in cotton wool then as it's easy enough to pick up an injury holding tackle bags as we've seen over the years.

After his criticism of Sarries  for not giving Sanjay an operation and opting for rehab, I think Gatland has been clever here in not choosing Sanjay. If Sarries do pick him this weekend then it would be easier for Gatland to pick him later in the tournament, unless of course Sanjay is fully recovered.
