Love it when the ref sends Boobyer to the sin bin and then an official has to tell him a few minutes later that there's no sin bin in the Heineken Cup
I still wake up late at night and think of what might have been when tim stimpson hit that jammy penalty1

So remind me. We played them in a QF and also in a sort of wild card (NFL term, sorry) game, the winners of which played in a QF, right? Both at Stradey. What years were these?

IIRC, the "Wild card" game was at CAP about 2 or 3 seasons before and we lost .

No, the playoff wildcard game was at the Arms park.
The controversy was that had we won that game the quarter final would have clashed with our tourist match against the all blacks, 97?

We lost the game, and then got hammered at Stradey by the All Blacks. OuchCry

Spencer John came on as a sub for Cardiff.  He left us saying he was going to Cardiff 'to become a damn good prop'.  Their scrum went into reverse when he came on.

That said it was a very strong and talented Cardiff team that lost that day.  It would probably see off the shower that play for them these days by some distance.
