Leinster have confirmed that Garry Ringrose and Seán O'Brien will not be considered for Saturday's game against the Scarlets

Two very good players there, but we know that they'll still be very strong whoever they decide to start. A big test for us, but so was the semi-final last season, and that game gives me confidence going into Saturday.

I am afraid my confidence levels have taken a huge blow after that performance Sunday. The forward pack we can put out should be a match for anyone during the 6 nations but we just capitulated. If ever a captain was needed it was Sunday. Emyr Phillips needs to be in that side if only for leadership from minute 1. Bring Ryan on early 2nd half. Why we keep picking Beirne at 6 I don't fathom. Put him in the row where he belongs. If Lewis is not deemed up to starting at 6 then play Josh or Cummins there. Lets face it we don't have too many options to consider changes but I would be looking at our back 3. Jonny had a mare but is class. Prydie looked back to being disinterested. I would certainly consider Cory Baldwin & Tom Williams on the wings.

Are we likely to get Cubby and Elias back (possibly Aled and Wyn?).

Can see us getting Cubby & Ryan. I doubt if we see Wyn & Aled. Gats will keep his first choice 23 wrapped in cotton wool with possibly Liam & Faletau getting some game time this weekend to push their chances along with North & Amos who will stay in camp I guess.

Big step up from last week needed. Both sides will be missing a lot of players. This a huge game if we want to secure top spot in the conference.

Got to start with the same to give them a chance to redeem themselves. If they get well beaten it will show that our squad is not good enough to compete whilst missing 15 top players.

Well the officials are two Ulstermen and two Munstermen so we might be okay. Hopefully the TMO has got a bit better at his job since this report in 2005 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/international/italy/2355761/Video-judge-McDowell-is-replaced.html

They are all employed by the same organisation. The IRFU own the 4 x provinces. The IRFU pay the players. The IRFU pay the Irish officials. Still, some will tell us to shut up and get on with it as per usual. |

The league doesn't do itself any favours when this happens. Yes, you want to believe that the officials will be scrupulously fair in their decision making but, on the other hand, there's always that tiny doubt from me that it is in their employer's interest to get as many teams getting a home play-off tie as possible. Hope they play it fair. |
