The 24-year-old’s future has been uncertain since February, when talks with Edinburgh over extending his present deal broke down. He would now appear to have landed firmly on his feet by attracting an offer from the current PRO14 champions. While it is thought that Hidalgo-Clyne would have been amenable to staying had the circumstances been right, Edinburgh’s new contract offer only ran until the end of December this year. The Scarlets offer is thought to be more secure for the scrum-half and his young family. |

He would be a step above young Hardie thats for sure. His kicking game is light years ahead of anything we have. If true thats a very shrewd piece of business.

That would be a very good signing. Although having 4 SH's seems excessive. I suppose we'd lose Cawdor and SHK for Internationals and have Hardy and Jonny Evs as back up.

Wow. Didn’t see this coming at all. Would be a superb signing and would provide good competition for Gareth and Jon, and also offer something different.
Very rarely are we linked with a player in the press and it doesn’t happen these days. |

I think this would be a brilliant bit of business by the management team & the board. I think he would offer slightly more than Aled for me.

Do people in general feel that we have enough 10s in the squad. I hope O'Brien does provide some competition for Dan who has not been very consistent this season. Presumably Patch will be in the Wales Squad for the numerous international tournaments that Wales will use for knackering our players, and an injury to Dan will leave very little left.

Hidalgo-Clyne is a talented player. A couple of seasons back it looked like he was about to claim the Scottish #9 jersey, but by his own admission his attitude and complacency cost him. Edinburgh perhaps hasn’t been the best environment for developing and improving players so a change of scenery could see him kick on significantly.
I’d heard he was on his way to Bristol and would be a bit surprised if he came to us as he’d surely have bigger money offers elsewhere, given we already have an international scrum half on a big contract. |

No. We're very exposed there.

We're still still here, but I wish we were in an Anglo-Welsh

Can't see why he would come down here to be honest or why we would want an absentee international for chunks of the season. Lovely player though.

I think he has given up on international honours in the short term as he has only been capped 9 times. He decided in February to leave Edinburgh, attracting interest from France & England. I wonder if he has had a chant with Barclay about life at the Scarlets. |

agree fscarlet, would not be surprised if he has spoken to JB. he has a young family and I think JB and his family have settled in so well down here he can see them having a nice couple of years down here.
wait and see what happens. would certainly be a very very good signing for us.
