I think Heineken pulled out because the French brought in a law preventing drinks firms from sponsoring sporting events - for the same reason, F1 teams have to cover up any drink-related ads on their cars - but I'm not 100% sure that was the reason - maybe a part of it, though?

No but they did call it the H Cup in France because if that issue. What happened as I remember it is that with the new competition 4 years ago or whatever, they decided to do what football do and just call it the Champions Cup and have a number of major sponsors rather than one title (name) sponsor but this news indicates that wasn't very successful. Seems good news. If only Heineken tasted half decent! I guess that's why they need so much advertising.

LOL

It's a pity - Amsterdam has some superb beer bars, as I found out recently - not a Heineken (or any other keg lager) to be seen! (There are a lot, many of which I haven't visited, but 'cause Beer loves Food, In de Wildeman, Proeflokaal Arendsnest and Craft & Draft all have excellent beers.

IMO our ideal draw is if we are drawn in Tier 2 and get Castres from Tier 1, Edinburgh from Tier 3 and Gloucester from Tier 4

Worst case scenario could be Leinster, Leicester and Toulon . Think ive worked that right

I'm not sure we can draw Leinster, as team from the same leagues will be kept apart until the allocation of Tier 4.

Rumblings that the 2021 Champions Cup final will be held in Amsterdam.

A few possibilities are listed in the 'Euro Draw' thread under Scarlets General, as well as a link by Minded to his master plan listing all possible combinations (I think)!

Very accessible and should be fun. Ferry and train a serious option for us.
