What a poor display. Neither team deserve to play top level rugby after this. The Ospreys are making a poor Ulster side look good. No structure, no invention just up the jumper rugby. I don’t see that changing next year with the signings they’ve made. Scott and George won’t be seeing much ball next season.

Yet if we believe the Ulster TV commentators, Ulster should probably have won both European Cups, the Pro 14, the FA Cup, the Bostik League, The Milk Cup and Lord knows what else this season. They are the most biased lot I've ever heard.

Do you think the amateurism of S4C will go against them bidding for PRO14 games?

Who’d have thought Biggar having a 1 out of 5 success rate at kicks at goal?
He did hit the post 3 times, in that, including a hurried drop goal attempt after his late try near the posts. Odds on Ospreys and Northampton in same Challenge Cup Pool? 😉 |

This is good news for us. Them not having any high profile European Cup matches to generate interest and excitement will hopefully result in sponsors and casual fans heading our way.

That looked like it was a different sport to what was played in Glasgow v Scarlets - very little invention by either side, and very poor skills by comparison. Ulster were by some way the better of two poor sides, and at least had the wit to take the chances offered them by the Os (one interception directly, one interception followed by a kick and chase etc.).
What surprised me about the Os, though, was that they looked as if they had no stomach for the fight - not something you'd expect from a team with AWJ and Biggar... end-of-season tiredness, or a deeper malaise? Time will tell.

What was it that their coach was saying after crowing about the signing of North? "He hasn't come here not to be playing champions cup rugby."

S4C is fine. Far better than Scrum V. Mainly because of Gwyn mind, but the likes of Nicky Robinson and Andrew Coombs seem to give a decent insight. Much prefer them to Jiffy and some of the others on Scrum V.

Absolutely - S4C commentators better than the alternatives by some distance!

I shared your reaction to the remark, too. Thinking back, it might be to the Rick O’Shea days. Can’t recall the last time they had disrespectful commentators and/or summarisers. |

PRW reckoned S4C put in a very good bid to show Pro14 games next season.
