Hadleigh, Cawdor & Samson rested, together with Seb Davies (not sure why he didn't get a start at lock), Wainwright and Rhodri Jones.
It's a shame Samson had to be carted across the Americas rather than getting some proper rest at home, but at least he won't be risked further. Suspected Aled would get a start, pleased for Patch that he'll get another run at 10 and chuffed for Ryan & Cubby for starting - let's see if the back-line can fire without The Glue... Update:
Hope it's not his ring finger... Edited by NobbySosban - 14 June 2018 at 1:21pm |

I hope that keeping Patch at 10 suggests Gats has decided that (all being equal) he is top pick over Anscombe. It will be interesting when he brings Anscombe on and in what position

The 4 Wales players injured on this tour have all been Scarlets - Samson, Steff, Wyn & Hadleigh.

TBF Samson shouldn't have gone on tour, the injury was picked up against Leinster.

Delighted for Cubby - most of us, and the pundits as well, wanted both him and Jenkins in the team... tough on Seb Davies, but he was out of position and didn't really show that he can play 6 - and Wales aren't short in that position!
Well done to Ryan for getting a start... I'm a bit surprised that Cawdor isn't starting, or even in the 23 - I suppose the coaches know what he can do by now, though.

Was never Cory Hill's biggest fan (quite the opposite in fact) but he's improved and impressed me immensely in the last year and a half. |

Yes - credit where credit's due - he's stepped up in a big way.

For the World Cup, a second row pool of Jake Ball, Seb Davies, Cory Hill and Alun Wyn Jones looks very good indeed, with a great mix of experience, athleticism and grunt. |

Beard hasn't impressed me in regional games, but fair play - he went really well against Argentina last week, and is probably the biggest second row Wales have (along with Charteris). If he can back that up this week, he'll be a real asset. Seb is unlucky, though, to have been picked out of position - he didn't really show up as a 6.
