I think the only problem I see is that Sam Davies doesn't read the game very well. His first inclination is to kick. I firmly believe he starves his backs. One only has to look to the last game when neither North nor Morgan had much ball the whole game. If he adopts the same approach against us I think we will make Ospreys pay. If he brings his backs into play more often North and Morgan are great finishers and it could be a hard day at the office for us. |

First time for a while I’ve been concerned about the outcome of this fixture. Ospreys getting some wins under their belt, Hook is experienced enough not to be a weakness at full back and Tipuric apparently playing out of his skin.
The biggest danger is North. I can’t see Sam Davies bringing him into the game but any loose kicks could be pounced on. However, it will be nice to be on the receiving end of Aed’s aimless box kicking and this might be the game where Fonatia proves a point. |

When you compare the side that Leinster brought here in round 2 compared to the Ospreys today, the Leinster side was a lot stronger across the park.
They had Healy, Furlong, Cronin and Toner in the front 5 who are current Irish International first choice players. They had Ruddock and Jack Conan in the back row who are also excellent players. Behind you had Lamour, Henshaw, McFadden, along with James Lowe and Gibson Park. I would suggest that only North would get into that back line and Tips and Alun Wyn up front. We beat that Leinster side with intensity and physicality. Bring the same today and we will win with something to spare. To be brutally honest, if we have aspirations of winning silverware this term, then we should be putting away this average Ospreys team at home.

We’ve got this guys, it won’t be fluid or for the purists I’d imagine,, we’ve had to, or chosen to, change half our team for every fixture thus far, so we lack a bit of sync, but we have too much for that Os side.
I expect us to target King in the lineout ( the Os don’t really have a line out specialist as such) and be finding grass with our kicks to try to exploit Hook’s glacial pace. Edited by Wil Chips - 06 October 2018 at 7:45am |

It does. Let’s hope it’s right. How does the ground hold after the rain. Been looking good so far I have to say

The more rain we have, the firmer the ground will be under foot, believe it or not.
My only worry is the greasy conditions that we'll have to handle the ball. Ospreys will fancy having a crack at us today and will target our lineout and breakdown in particular. I also envisage them trying to choke tackle at every opportunity - it's something they've done all season, particularly Tipuric and AWJ in sync. Edited by haydn_davies - 06 October 2018 at 9:03am |

One thing I will say, and I maybe slated but Ospreys have had Edinburgh home, both Italian sides and cheetahs in first 5 games. The back g test they bottled by dropping everyone and got smashed. Benetton, Ulster and Connaught away are never easy, plus a strong Leinster, I think we're looking at the negatives too much and should have far too much for the Os

I hope you are right and here is me thinking that this is a very strong Ospreys team. If Sam & Aled do as they did against Zebra the likes of North and Morgan won't see much ball. Watching Ospreys against Zebra was like watching paint dry. I couldn't believe the way those two kept giving the ball back to Zebra then leaving it to the forwards to win back the ball.

That is a very good summary. I agree - if we play with the same intensity as against Leinster, we should win. It's never easy against the Os, and certainly no-one can be over-confident with Foxy out - but we should have too much for them IMO.

Scott’s being given a run out on to the hallowed turf by the Os I hear.

Looking at the make up of the back lines the Ospreys won't fancy a loose running game. Where they will be dangerous is from set piece ball in our defensive third looking to bring George & Luke into the midfield 10/12 channel. Look at the damage done in that area by Bundi Aki recently. Parkes that day was not at the races & we could do with him at his intelligent best today to combat their limited but effective strike plays.
If we get our defensive organisation right including defending the driving maul then we should have far too many tricks up our sleeves for them to cope with.

In what capacity? Not as a player, obviously... Actually, Scott would be an ideal person to comment on S4C, but I don't know if anyone has asked him...

Really? Good grief - I thought he was out for a few weeks yet. Well, that certainly improves the O's chances, especially with Foxy out.
