They seem to be swayed a lot by reputation (eg Tipuric and AWJ) and also who the media thinks should win -Racing, Leinster, Saracens etc. They probably think they will be more heavily criticized if the "underdog" wins.

If Conway of Munster doesn't get cited for his actions on Saturday it'll make the whole situation look farcical..and as of the moment of this message...he hasn't.

A ridiculous challenge which should be punished.  I don't think the impact was as great on the Exeter player as it was on North however and if these things are outcome led, then there's a good chance that no action will be taken against Conway.

Had the Exeter player been hurt I'm sure there would be a citing.  As others have mentioned already, this will encourage players to fake injury to get the ref to take his cards out.

I always thought that when attempting a charge down, your arms would be high in the air - not hitting the kicker on the side of the neck with an elbow!Confused

OK, I do agree with the outcome thing now. I saw a clear tip tackle for Bath against Toulouse. It was really soft, there was no injury and so no card. If he had been injured - or feigned injury - then would have been a different story. Letter of the law I think red. There is an argument that had he been injured then it would by definition have been a worse tip tackle and so the card/citing "more" deserved but I think this is the point made.

Rugby players are tough though. Take this guy, for example:

Probably should issue a warning to any men before reading it!

Two announced today, as far as I know.

Kaino from the Bath v Toulouse game and Ledzowski (sp?) from the Glasgow v Saracens game.

Lozowski got 2 weeks (the minimum sanction) for dangerously entering a ruck, cleared of dangerous play against Ruaridh Jackson.

Kaino's hearing is tonight.

Meanwhile, Wayne's had his say following Fonotia's ban:
