A rugby incident was the pockock knee to the head 2 mins later.

Alun Wyn got away with an elbow to the players neck. That was worthy of a yellow.

I don’t want AWJ banned but from a consistency refereeing perspective it was on a par and visibly worse than Fonotia imo. This outcome based rule is all very harsh though . Also the HP hit was surely a definite penalty and yellow? 🤔 A lottery to me now

Yes, that did look genuinely accidental.

I didn't see it, but it seems as if Martin Johnson - no stranger to the 'dark arts' - thought so too. At the very best interpretation, it was reckless.

It's here. World Rugby are a joke.

Clear as day he went in with intent there

It has now emerged that Halfpenny has suffered a concussion from the late hit. HT Fscarlet.

There’s a huge gap in quality between the top Kiwi rugby coaches and their top referees.

Much work needed to close that gap.

In a way, the two main decisions in that game (AWJ's forearm to the neck and the Halfpenny incident balanced each other out).  Not sure if its just the ref ignored them or he saw them and judged them consistently albeit wrongly.  With another ref, that game could have ended 14 versus 14.

I’d feel far more confident in the officiating if the individual looked like he wanted to deal with difficult decisions and was technically accurate.

Our game against Edinburgh proved O’Keeffe (was it?) was neither.

His approach might generate a flowing game, however it’s built on a foundation of shifting sand and will often end in tears.

Yes O'Keefe did officiate our game in Edinburgh. I would point out that he was very quick to banish Gardiner for 2 (?) technical offences. I also believe that an Edinburgh player got a YC early second half.

As others have posted, he missed clear fouls on two Edinburgh tries, iirc, and his punishment of technical offences is all well and good if he gets the rest of it right, especially the player endangerment stuff.

I doubt Navidi went down like he had been shot. North wanted something from it at the time.

Let’s not forget it was a 6 week ban initially for Fonotia.
