With Cardiff Blues reportedly looking at Josh Adams/Steffan Evans- pretty sure Owen Lane is out of contract...would not be a bad option at all. But I cant see him leaving Cardiff.

Not sure if Werner Kruger is staying - I'd like to think he is, but if not, we would need a very good signing to replace him. Not sure who's about.

Retention is also key.

Ideally, we need to recruit quality that will not be part of the world cup to really get our European campaign underway.

As it stands, Sam Davies, Owen Williams, Sam Lousi, Ben Lam would give us a massive boost for that.

Kruger is one of,if it the most important re-signing in my opinion. 8 has been a problem for a long time now, but before that, a weals rum was our Achilles for much longer.

agree, its his age and who's available to come in is my thoughts. is there better out there thats younger...a new project is now starting. does he fit in with that? i like him, and we will need a damn good replacemnet should he leave.
Exactly. Sensible thinking but he has been a fantastic servant and had provided excellent value for money
I still wake up late at night and think of what might have been when tim stimpson hit that jammy penalty1

Ben Lam is quality and was on fire last season for the Hurricanes, signed a contract which keeps him there until the end of season 2021

Werner has been an excellent signing; he has rarely missed a game which for the position he plays is incredible. If he wants another contract give it to him. We should also be looking to being in another young tight head - someone like Leon Brown who has the makings.

Samu Manoa has apparently been linked with us - any substance to it or wishful thinking?

I’ve read online he’s had a tough time of it.
He’s apparently a very homesick person going back to his time in Northampton who would give him one week in 4 to fly back home as long as he was back for the weekend’s game.
When he moved to Toulon they basically made it impossible for him to head home at all for 2 consecutive seasons. When he joined Cardiff he suffered a bereavement in his close family and spent some time at home, and then recently suffered a knee injury and has headed home to rehab it.

Should add don’t know how much this is true, just read it online.

Considering Pivac's comment about our tackling at 10, I think it's inevitable that we will be in the market for another fly half for next season.

Rhys is a class act, but has had injury problems of late... could we afford him, and if so, would he be worth a punt? A fit priest - most definitely, IMO.

I'd definitely have him back here. He'd be an excellent back-up at 10 (and has still got a good year or two left in him!) especially when Patchell is away with Wales. He's not a bad starter at 10 either!

not bad cover at 15 as well and his goal kicking has come on leaps and bounds. good defender too. but cant see us affording him.

I have heard this too, though given we have Patch, Dan & AoB, could this mean Dan leaving?

I'd prefer Priestland to Sam Davies. He is more in tune to our running style of play, whereas Sam is playing what more resembles 10 man rugby.
Priestland may only have a season or two left and may be more willing to play second fiddle to Patch. Sam Davies has been first choice with the Ospreys all season, and if he is at all ambitious, will want to be first choice.
